What is success to you?

I believe many would agree that different people has different perspectives in life. What is your perspective on success? For me, success are, satisfying career, start a family and many good friends. Kind of simple. But it kind of depending on how contented you are with your life in order to call it a successful one.
For career success, I believe to be a director before I retire is quite fair. Whats your view?

hi, i think success is a habbit,there is a thin difference between, losers and winners, the losers don't know how close they were to success. i think success is nothing but self satisfaction, satisfying yourself is one of the biggest task. what lies around you is nothing when compared to what lies within you...............

Thanks for your response. It is interesting to term success as a habit. Self satisfaction is agreeable. Thats rather deep. More on a psychological behavior towards success in your point of view. However, there is any behavior that may influence one's view on being self satisfied and that is competition. The motivation behind competition usually involved monetary gain. It is hard to manage these behavior sometimes. Thanks once again for the response.

Most people deem success as a position in career or amount of money they make as both brings in reputation from nearones and people when talk about you, you call yourself "oh! I am a successful man!"
But there is a good mass of shy people who work behind the scene and are patted only few times but they know by heart that they are successful as they either failed in past and recognized it or have achieved something which has been different and unique. The self satisfaction is best success.

Thanks for your response. A very insightful opinion on success. A very objective look at the lot of people who worked behind the scene behind a person who are termed as a successful man. These guys behind the scene are the true successful ones. Well, I agree. But, without the leadership, they may or may not make it. I agree on the part that recognizing failure is very important. Many people including myself sometimes failed to admit failure. Many things to learn in order to attain 'success', isn't it. Great response, thank you once again.

I beleive that sucess is being happy with who you are and where you are in life. I feel that I am successful becuase I have a wonderful family, a goob job, nice cars, and a house. I had to be happy with myself before I could do any of those other things. Once I met my husband I became happy with every thing. To me we would be sucessful even if living in a card borad box because we have the love of a family.

Thank you for your response. I do agree love is very important in one's life. Having love and starting a family is like a milestone in life, to makes it complete.
You mentioned being happy with who you are is success, I could not agree with you more. Being happy is critical, a good mental condition is desired, or else how successful you become will be in vain if you end up suffering from mental stress and disorder. That is why, from this discussion, I came to realize that work life balance is truly vital.

Thanks for the response. I do agree with you that along with the other things, especially health is very important in life. Without good health, you would not taste success even if you are successful. Traveling is good. :)
