T-Shirt Surgery

I've always loved to take an old shirt that I don't wear anymore and make it into something new and different. Recently, I've seen a lot of that going on on the web. It's called T-shirt surgery, or clothing reconstruction, and lots of awesome stuff is being sold on eBay. Anyone do this or know someone who does? I've been thinking about giving it a shot since I've always wanted to be a fashion designer. Thoughts?
