Who remembers Jack LaLanne?

I do! I remember watching him when I was just a little girl and it's so neat to see him recently on the Target commercials. I did a bit of reading about Jack LaLanne and even made a Squidoo lens about him (see my website link if you're interested). In watching old videos of his shows, I am amazed at how timely his message of good health and nutrition is, particularly with the obesity epidemic today.
Do you remember Jack LaLanne? Are you too young to have ever heard of him, or is he a cultural icon that everyone knows?

I sure do remember Jack LaLanne, very well...When i was a young mother i use to do exercises with him everyday..He had me looking good to with all his exercises,i was a faithful watcher...I think he is an icon,and every night on late night TV him and his wife are Juicing away with the Jack LaLanne juicer..I want one of those juicers but i cannot afford one right now but i do have a rotesserie,and it makes a delicicious chicken...I am sure even the younger group have seen him,maybe not like he was when he was young doing all those exercises but if they watch late night Tv they have seen him......He and his wife are old now but they are very healthy and he looks good for his age....

Thanks for your response! I agree, he is an icon and it's amazing how strong and well he is at his age. I asked my son if he knew who Jack LaLanne is and he said he did. I asked him why he knew him and he said just because he's Jack LaLanne! I guess I've probably brought up the name in the past, especially to this son who is very into fitness. I really enjoyed my research and watching the videos of clips from the teaching segments of his old shows. He's very inspirational. He's certainly on my list of people I would love to meet!
