Beware of Temporary Employment

I had an unfortunate thing happen to me this past summer and it left me below BROKE. Because I had been self employed (a contract wasn't paid) I was left without income and couldn't even file for unemployment.
I have an incredible 16 year old son (I am truly BLESSED to be his mom) and I am trying to keep our home. I went to work IMMEDIATELY for Accountemps, a division of Robert Half & Associates; whom I also registered with as they list 80% of the jobs in the north end of the county-the cream of the crop. I had to keep food on the table , lights and yes Internet...it's the best tool for generating an income, and for finding a REAL job!!
I have been a temp now since August. One can only live on half of their regular pay for so long, now I get another day behind for every day I work. I cannot get off square one with Robert Half, it would be bad for Accountemps as they would have to replace me and they make great money from my labor. It is a catch 22. I think some of the jobs they post are really fakes anyway, just a means of increasing their data base of potential employees.
I realize I am not their client, that the companies doing the hiring are. But I am a damn good accountant, ready willing and able to work my butt off for someone so that I can pay my mortgage. I have been doing it for 30+ years, and now I am beginning to feel "DEFECTIVE" in some way. I've had some really excellent interviews and I know the competition is stiff, but WOW...I want work!!!

Have you looked into any work at home jobs like liveops , or west at home. I work both and you can make decent money with them depending on the hours u put in .

Your Welcome if u ever change your mind there is not set hours u have to work with either of those companies. You select the spots u want to work and if something comes up u can release your spot for another angent to take. Good luck in finding what you are looking for.

Thanks for your comments. I have looked at West, and even recommended it to friends. I am working 8 hours a day so there isn't a lot of time to pursue these and still have my brain working! It's a hazard of old age...burnout!!
Thanks again, God bless

I, too, have found work at home. But I found it through a Home Worker's Directory. www.easywork-greatpay.com They really do all the investigative work for you and give you a book filled with hundreds of companies. I know this is an old post, but if you no longer need the info, maybe someone else can use it.

Oh gosh, thats quite a predicament. I just wanted to drop a note to you and say I hope you can get in full time with the company, and if not, you can quickly find a place to value you as an employee and not another face to make a little money off of.

Thanks, YTB is a great company. I don't have time to build a business, I have built many online. I don't even have a way to pay for it, so I am selling marketing services through my own site GuruetteOnTheNet.com and with my partner at InternetMarketing-Mavens.com My credit is gone, and I don't have ANY way to validate online payment processors, so if it isn't instant money like the services I offer or a weekly GUARANTEED paycheck-I am not looking at this time.
Thanks again!! God bless,
Marianne
