China to most of you guys is a little mystery even a little threatenning as a Chinese yong man I wanna share some of my idea.
1 We are pround of our thousands of years old of history and culture,as the cultural origin of eastern Asia we also contribute an awful lot to the whole world. we believe deeply our culture is one of the best so we are not afaid of any foreign stuff coming in, we like American idol we like High school musical we enjoy watching Hollywood movies which we call American big movies(????)we celebrate Christmas but nothing can prplace our own staff like kungfu,Spring Festival,Confucius,The art of war...,2 We are living in a divided country,we have two governments one in Beijing they call themselves the People's Republic of China, one in Taiwan they call themselves Republic of China,we are widely known as the former, this is all because of the Chinese civil war 60 years ago, although there are military threats from US and Japan but we will unify our country(hopefully soon) at all costs even it means there is a war with US or World War Three.
3 In recent 150 years we are been invaded by dozens of countries I dont know how many times.I can tell you this I had a depressing high school because of the history books. We lost millions of square kilometers of territory mostly ot Russia, and you know Mongolia that used to be part of China 60 years ago, if not for that we are the largest country in the world for sure, even now we are the third largest country in the world. we lost countless treasures or got stealed and robbed to the western countries.and some of them can still be found in museums in Europe esp in England and France and America. The English and Franch troops robbed and destroyed the world's grandest and most magnificent beautiful palace in Beijing a hundred years ago: The Summer Palace, they took everything they can and burnt the rest of the palace to cover what they did in there.
3 In the World War Two, you might familiar with the horror things German did,but you may not know that Japan did the same thing to Chinese people,Japanese killed 300000people in Nanjing city along, we call it Nanjing Massacre.
4 We used to be the most powerful country in the world for thousands of years, we believe deeply that one day we can be as good as our ancestors, we call it the great Renaissance of Chinese People.
5 We are living a great live we havent met in hundreds of years,so we dont think there is any major shortcoming in our system, there are problems but we can concur them.we like our leaders even the Communist Party, but there are complains about the local officals. In our eye the Western democracy is phoney, dont be mad just what you think of us you can blame the propaganda.
6 We do think western world is much advanced than us so we are working our asESS off to try to catch up,Only a small part of us has a nice car,a big house with a swimming pool but our live is getting better and better. as a regular college student I have IBM iPod Nokia Abercrombie&Fitch(by the way thoes things is much cheaper in China as they are made here we can always get a discount online)so we may not have much money but we are not that bad. We dont party in college,we are allowed to get married though.
7 When we hear the word capitalism it's the same feeling as you hear communism. Not exactly, we think the world should be a diverded one,wo respect different cultrures and systems including capitalism,we dont try to impose our system to others like the America does.
WHAT TEAM! WILDCAT!

it is good to teach others about your country! You are young, and you will notice that things do change with time! I thought history class was depressing, at times, with all that has happened in the past! We have to remember the past, so that we are not doomed to repeat it! We can learn from history and figure out where to make changes so that we all have a better life in the future! In America, there is more of a promise of a better life, than there are people actually having a better life! There was a time when we did better than our parents did, made more money, had bigger houses, but that day is in the past! Today, many people rent the house, do not own nice cars, and cannot afford to have more than one child! There are car share programs that make it easier on people, and public transportation, but everything here still needs improving. So you see, my friend, that we are all still waiting and hoping for a better life in the future!
