I too am a type 2 diabetic, I too have tinitus. I'm not sure if diabetes is a cause for it. I do no that it is very bothersome.I would have a really hard time going to sleep at night until i started sleeping with a fan on a night. 365 nights ayear. the white noise helps drown out the ringing and gives me another noise to concentrate on. It works for me!

I am guessing you are not implying that only diabetics suffer from tinnitus. I have suffered with it since I got fibromyalgia 12 years ago. I went to an ENT and had the whole work-up done. Since everything came clear he said if it didn't go away then I was stuck with it for the rest of my life. My mother has had ringing in her ears for decades and she has nothing more than a little arthritis. I've seen a commercial for a product that is supposed to help ringing in the ears but I can't remember what it's called, nor do I know whether it works. I do think it is a prescription medication though. I tried Niacin but that just made me sick because, as the doctor in the ER told me, my body rejected it because I didn't need it; I had enough. I know a lot of people with ringing in their ears and the only method I have heard of as having some success is acupuncture. But I haven't tried it.
