I am of the humble opinion that no such thing exists. That 'good' is simply the popular decision, and 'evil' is simply the unpopular.
I think Good & Evil are simply the flawed polarisations of bygone ancients. Circumstance seem to me to be a far more important concept than whether something is good or evil.
Many of us have Grandparents who were serial killers between the period of 1939 to 1945. I know my own Grandfather killed hundreds of strangers in the deserts of Northern Africa. Yet, he was a kind and compassionate man who loved his children, and family.
Many of the religions we follow espouse the golden rule that 'thou shalt not kill'. We condemn murderers as 'evil'. Yet we manufacture exceptions with titles such as 'war'. Where it is permissible to end another's life for the 'greater good'.
Justifications are simply justifications. Personally I see no point in subscribing to such duplicities as 'good' and 'evil' which bare a stark resemblance to 'double think' and Nineteen Eighty Four. Yet Eighty Four should by no means be considered of practical application only to the present and future.
Indeed, many of the themes and elements of this novel have been used to keep the human ape subservient to authority for many millenia. Concepts of 'Good & Evil' being prominent.

I feel that there is a difference between good and evil. I think if you conduct yourself by having a positive attitude and by doing unto others as you want them to do unto you, this world would be a better place. For example, if you want someone to murder you, then go murder someone, and your life would be terminated. If you want to be stolen from, then go steal from someone else. I feel that if people could live under the belief of these couple rules it would be a better place. I know that if I wanted to be raped, all I would have to do is go rape someone. Well I don't want to be raped, so therefor I would not commit such an evil thing.
