Detroit Michigan! Anyone live there?

Hey my lotters I am looking for Detroiters or someone who knows a lot about it. You see my husband and I were in Detroit last summer in a big truck and wel... we got lost! LOL We ended up deep in the city. (or so we think) Anyway there was something major going on. There were beautiful muscle cars EVERYWHERE! Blocks and blocks of people and cars. There were huge parking lots of people and tents and awesome cars! We could not stop or partake then but we wanted to go back in our car and check it out. Problem is I have no idea exactly what was going on or exactly when it was. Does anyone know if this is something they do annually? Does anyone know what it is even called? Help will be appreciated!

Depending on the month, it was an old car run. They have "Hot August Nights" and some other thing in July or June. All the old car owners with beautiful, buffed up old muscle cars go up and down the street in a kind of parade while spectators sit at the side and gawk, grill dinner, buy from street vendors, and yell encouragement. It's great! My ex-father-in-law has a 1952 Tbird that he drives in such shows and the time my husband (now ex) took me we had such fun! In later years, my sons got to drive the car, too.
That's not deep into the city, I believe it's Lincoln Park where my sis in law lives. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the street!
So it happens every year if you want to look up Detroit vintage car shows.

I definitely will! It looked like awesome fun! I looked up Detroit official website but nothing. But I will check out vintage car shows. Thanks a lot!!!

I believe there is also an old car run called The Woodward Run. Not sure is that is what you are thinking of.

That was more than likely the Woodward Cruise. I'm from Detroit and there are a few car shows that are put on annually.

Thats cool, all I know is I have never seen such an assortment of muscle cars in all my life! It looked like tons of fun. Any advice about when to come up for a show like that?
