St. Patricks Day During Holy Week

So St. Patricks Day is tomorrow, and because it falls on a Monday I'm sure most celebrated the holiday this past weekend. However, for those who are truly dedicated to the holiday, or maybe just need a good excuse to drink green beer, St. Patricks Day is conflicting with Holy Week. I recently read an article in which a particular catholic church stated that it wishes for its members to focus on holy week rather than drink or celebrate for St. Patricks day, whereas those who want to observe the holiday are saying they were Irish before they were ever Catholic. Any thoughts? Do you think that it is okay to celebrate St. Patricks day during Holy Week?

St. Patrick - St. Patrick's day was first celebrated in the US in Boston in 1737. St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is one of Christianity's most widely known figures. But for all his celebrity, his life remains somewhat of a mystery. Many of the stories traditionally associated with St. Patrick, including the famous account of his banishing all the snakes from Ireland, are false, the products of hundreds of years of exaggerated storytelling.
I think everyone has the right to celebrate any holiday they want as long as it was already stated a holiday. As I believe St. Patrick's day was first celebrated in the US in Boston in 1737. So I don't think there is nothing wrong in celebrating it with Holy week. It is also considered as a Catholic Holy day since he is a Saint.
