Do you think its cheap to go to the grocery store or convenients store to pick up snacks and take them into he movie theatre on a date? You could get three times as much stuff by doing it that way or settle for a box of popcorn for 10 bucks! What do you think about this?

I think you should ask your date.If they just want popcorn from the theater than you don't have to make a 7-11 run. But if they want more than candy , then why not go to 7-11 and stock up for the movie. For me, I wouldn't want any snack during the movie. I would rather see the movie and then go to dinner afterward. And It wouldn't have to be a fancy restaurant.Mc Donalds or another fast food would be okay.

Back in the day when we would get popcorn and it wasn't that expensive,it would be gone before the first promo aired. why? Because we would make sure we got to the theater on time and we would get the popcorn right away so it would be gone way before the movie started. I liked that because I prefer eating Then seeing the movie or seeing the movie then going to eat. I rarely eat and watch a movie.

I really liked your response. For some reason, we seem to think we have to have a snack while watching a movie. I guess the movie theatres are counting on us to think that way! Thanks for the reply.

No, I wouldn't think the guy was cheap for bringing snacks instead of buying them for an arm and leg at the theatre. I would think he is a bargain shopper or at least a guy who cares where his money goes. That way he could have more to buy me other things. Rather than popcorn and candy.

I don't think its cheap! I do it all the time. I usually end up taking a bunch of kids to the movies and it can get quite expensive when they all want to eat something from the concession stand. Although I do buy the popcorn there, I always take the candy bars in my bag along with the capri sun drink packs. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't be able to afford going.

I don't mean taking the kids out, I mean on a date with a guy or girl. Would they think this is cheap?

Thanks for your reply! I agree with you wholeheartedly but I do have a few girlfriends who are so stuck up that they want their guy to pay full price at the theatre for their snacks! Have you ever known someone like that?

Yes, it is cheap to buy from the grocery or convenient store for snacks that you can bring to the movie house instead of a popcorn. Actually either way will do for me. You know, popcorn is just like the universal snack for watching movies, why not try some alternatives to make watching movie as fun as it is. We can also eat heavy meals before going inside a movie house, and then just buy drinks, frappes or fruit shakes inside so we could concentrate more on the story. Just a thought. =)
