In some asian countries like the Philippines, the lenten season is being celebrated sometime between the month of april and march and it is highly recognized by the catholic church. What i dont understand is that, why the catholic people has to make a re-enactment, all the sufferings and sacrifices that jesus christ had done before(according to the bible), i dont see the sense of doing it, rather its a mockery or an insult. Some poeple claim that, they doing it coz, in that way, they can repay god for what sins they had done in the past and they can redeem themselves. Is it true, that by doing penitence, crucifixion on the cross, make a significant actions for reflections and realizations of our sins? What do you feel when you see somebody doing it? Are you going to laugh at it or feel pity for him?

Well I guess the best thing that you could do about it is to respect them the way the believe in. If you are not a catholic yourself then you may just leave them and don't even bother them as they have their own belief systems like you do about their faith. You don't need to pity them since they chose it that way so let them exercise their religious beliefs. I am a catholic but I do not practice what they practice during lenten season as i also do not believe in most of the traditional practices but I do no mock them or look lesser at them doing that each of us has our own reasons for doing and believing into something.
