iN mylot, do you have unknowingly in competetion with another user or users?
i mean in term sof rating. say someone is very near to you in number of posts. then suddenly you post greater in one day and bypass him/her. next day you see taht person has crossed you. do you in any competetion here?
i know many highly rated users admitting here they want to overtake so and so.
you don't have to name them, just say whether or not?

I can participate in mylot for 30 to 45 minutes and within that time, most of the time goes answering (commenting) on the responses received for my discussion topics. A few discussion topics are answered and that counts for my rating. As such I am not keen in racing. I will be glad if someone overtakes me.

That was couple of months ago, when I was active. In fact I was quite addicted to mylot. But if you watch my rating it is increasing by 5 or 10 number a day. Earlier I used to post 75 to 100 posts a day, sot in 15 to 20 days I could comlete 1000. Now that I am preoccupied with new business (FINANCIAL ADVERISER FOR INDIAN MUTUAL FUNDS), I am concentrating on obtaining funds for MF and I get my commission.

Hello my dear friend ssh. After reading your response, I have got to know that you have been very busy with your work and do not have enough time to spend on mylot now, but to be frank with you, I am used to seeing you always in the first place on users by rating. I hope that you will keep up and maintain the top one users by rating. To me, you have been a great mylotter as always. I will try to be close to you on the first page within two months. Good luck to you and me and our sweet subha.

Actually recently i came across a discussion where the user says she wants to take over in position of the user who is in so and so position and with difference in 900 posts from her. she hope to do that in 15 days. that thing caught my attention and I realized there are such competetion here as well.

mmmhm.Never so far.In fact only today I noticed the number by the side of your post.
I will just look at discussion topics and choose what I like and where I can respond and then start typing out my response.
Similarly, if some topic comes to mind I post it straightaway.

hi Subha!I post the discussions at my own convenient pace and never tried to chase others. I feel comfortablw with my own postings though they are quite few as compared to others.

Yes when i see someone's points just a little away from me.i think of chasing someone.but it doesn't happen that way.i do the posts according to my goal that is 16 posts per day.

I really don't chase anyone here at Mylot but I would like to make it to the first page of top users. i know i will never be first on the list here because I am too far behind and I was away for about 6 months from Mylot. I would love to be on the first page sometime though. that is what i am working hard for.

wow, that is an interesting thought....
I can see where setting your mind on passing up the person just ahead of you could be a real drive towards production of posts - like a race, it is easier to run faster if you have someone to run with.
I do not think I would like to have myself feel that kind of pressure, though, of all the ups and downs of rating position.

This is a first kind of post,I have noticed in the last six months. so far I have not taken care, to view the points of others. I use to respond as many discussions as possible if the subject matter pertains to my interest. It appears that this trend is also healthy which will bring more discussions in mylot.

Really, the thought hadn't occurred to me to do that! I rarely even set goals for my own posting, except if I am trying to reach payout by the end of the month. Those times I rarely meet my goals because it seems I can't find a lot of things I want to respond to.
Generally, I respond to any discussions I see that interest me, if I have the time. I don't really pay attention to my own number, let alone someone else's.

Well, I don't really mind the ratings. What I actually read are the post of my friends and see if I could post a reply. From there, I would go to the discussions from my interest and the top discussions. I am not very particular with the ratings.

I must admit that I really don't pay attention or care too much about the ratings. I mean people post only in certain topics and some people post in a wide variety of topics.
I do notice when people who started pretty close to when I started have a ton more posts then I do. Makes me feel like a slacker. BUT I don't try to out do them. Plus the count on our posts isn't really accurate because it doesn't count if you reply to a discussion you started or back to someone you already replied to.

I don't worry about what someone else is doing. I respond to anything that sounds interesting to me and if someone's response needs to be answered, I will. I am not competing against anyone but myself. I just want to see my numbers go up. I noticed today my star rating was up to 8!!! Woohoo!!!

I must admit that I have never competed with another user. It is good see people who have been here for a while and obviously post alot and I can recognise the people who have started around the same time as myself but I'm not bothered how many posts they have done. I am only interested in replying to those discussions which I find interesting and I can only do it for a couple of hours each day... so no, it doesn't bother me. I would like to be at the top but it won't happen.

Hi subha12, it is really interesting and lots of fun to see mylot users having their daily position of “users by rating” competition here, whereas some are rushing for the first position. So the people in the front have to strive hard so as to maintain their present position. I think this is a proper and effective way for healthy competition. This would make mylotting more exciting and interesting. It is rather depressed that I am still having my posting problem. So I could only act as a happy passive participant here.

Definitely NOT! I could care less how many posts anyone has. The total number of points does not define whether a myLotter makes interesting posts and that is all I care about.

I don't get in competition with others as far as posts go. I am trying to get my posts up, so I guess that you could say, that I am in competition with myself. I want to bring my posts up because I want to be more active on here.

I don't really bother to look at other's rating. It doesn't do any good to me and besides I am not competing anything with anyone in here. As my lot community, all I do is read the discussion and give comment or post response if necessary.
