Today I'm probably getting drunk ..................

It's St Patrick's Day today and as usual I am heading off to Glasgow shortly to go on a massive pub crawl, pester bar staff for silly hats and t-shirts (preferably without having to drink Guinness in order to get them!) and generally drink too much and suffer for it tomorrow. It's become an annual tradition that a group of us do this. None of us are Irish or have any Irish connections but then neither are most of the people we'll meet in the bars. It's really just an excuse to celebrate something (and spend the day in the pub of course) Anyway - what are you doing today? Do you celebrate St Patrick's Day? If so are you actually Irish? Or do you celebrate any other special days which really have no relevance to you just for the sake of celebrating something? Happy St Patrick's Day!

Hello there, you've been missed so it's great to see you. Your St Pat's day sounds like fun. It's the sort of thing I'd enjoy too except for the drinking too much part. My Mum was Irish but we don't celebrate St Patrick's day where I live. I stayed home all day as there was no need to go out. The people that frequent our pub are a bunch a rat bags for the most part. I rarely go there. Happy Easter!

Well I have to admit the pubs in the town where I live have more than their fair share of rat bags which is why I'm not in them very often. I just like having something to celebrate even though I have no Irish roots at all. Happy Easter to you too!

Thanks I did have a good time, although I usually do anyway. The hangover wasn't too bad the next day either!

Sounds like you are going to have a great day. Have fun! I am not Irish, and St Patrick's day is not celebrated here (Norway). Right now I cannot really think of any days we celebrate just to party. I guess I do not need an excuse really. I always seem to have the best time when we just go out for no reason at all.

And what a great excuse it is too! Hope you have a great time, wish I could do the same, life just doesn't permit that for me this year though. Previously though I have celebrated the day not because I am Irish but just because it is good to celebrate whatever you can, whenever you can! Have a Guinness for me

Thanks - I did have a good time! I'm the same, any excuse for a celebration is fine with me.
