Here is a question about being pregnant...

Here is what is going on with me. I have been on depo provera for almost a year now and I always gotten my shots on time or early. Because of this I do not get cycles anymore. I know yay right? The last week I have been feeling naseous, dizzy, having to go to the bathroom all the time, slight cramping, moody/emotional and just feeling like something is going on with my body. I took a test last week and I didn't get the results so I threw the thing in the trash only to look at it hours later to find a faint positive! I know it could possibly be an evaporation line but that has never happened to me before. I had another test that was negative a few days later and today I am going in for a test. I am wondering if there could be a possibility that I could be pregnant but testing too soon?
I don't have a cycle to base any of this on and no idea when I should be counting from, if that makes sense.

Depo provera tricks your body into thinking you are 3 months pregnant which is why you don't have a "cycle". You don't ovulate and you tend to gain a few pounds. I highly doubt you could become pregnant on depo. I was on it twice for two years each. I never got pregnant. Is it possible you could have the flu?

It is possible with everything going around right now. I have been on the shot for almost a year and for the past 6 months or so I haven't had any of these symptoms. lol Thats why the panic. I am also disappointed in that nurse for not letting me tell her everything that was going on because she could have helped me figure out a few things. I normally don't do to the bathroom like I have and its been driving me nuts but I don't think its a bladder infection. Still before my next shot I am getting a test just because you never know and I like to be on the safe side since miscarriages run in my family.

I haven't experienced a pregnancy whilst using contraception myself but no method of contraception is totally pregnancy proof there is always a chance that you could become pregnant using any method of contraception. Your symptoms do sound like pregnancy symptoms. I would not take anything from the test you threw aways as like you say this could just be an evapuration line, The one dure fire way to find out if you are pregnant is to get a blood test done at your local surgery or family planning clinic, this will tell you definatly.
it may well be that you are testing too early but the symptoms you describe are more common with the 4-12 week pregnancy stages than the preconception and 2 week stages. Hope this helps and you get the results you are hoping for.

Well I went to the clinic today and had a negative urine test. That woman looked at me like I had two heads and when I started telling her the symptoms she interrupted and informed me they weren't pregnancy symptoms. I didn't even get to finish telling her. Normally I don't have any problems there but that woman just rubs me the wrong way. Thank you guys for your responses.

When i was pregnant with my first, I could have known 2 months sooner, but the test i took was such a faint positive I thought maybe the line just showed up because it was wet. But if you took another test and it came up negative then I don't think you are pregnant. The shot is supposed to be pretty effective. I have a friend who claims she got pregnant while on the shot, so who knows though. Its good that you are going in for a test to make sure. I hope that you get the results you want. Good luck.

It is possible you could be pregnant. I have used the shot for a long time with great results but there is like a 1 percent chance on the shot of getting pregnant. I would have a blood test done at a doctor to find out for sure.

Sounds like the exact same thing that I went through when I found out when I was pregnant. The line was very faint for me too. I had been on birth control for over 10 years and when I went off of it to try and concieve a baby my periods were never regular so I could never quite figure out when I was ovulating. We tried to concieve for exactly one year so I was shocked when I took the test and it came out postitive because after that long it was hard to believe that it was ever going to happen. I had no idea either how far along I was either because I couldn't go by when I last got my period.
