Just who was St. Patrick? believe it or not, it doesnt have anything to do with beer or wearing green! This is an exerpt of an email that i got that will give you a small glimpse into who St. Patrick really was... ....................................................... that time of year again, when people put on green clothes and drink more than on any other day of the whole year, including New Year's, while they celebrate a person they know hardly anything about except for some myths and fables. But truth is sometimes stranger than fiction and the real story is much more powerful, challenging, and inspiring than the myths. The man known as St. Patrick was neither Catholic nor Irish but was actually from Roman Britain and went to Ireland to reach the pagans and druids in the land known by the Romans as Hibernia - The Land of Endless Winter. Led by a heavenly vision he crossed the sea in his quest to bring the Gospel to those emerald shores.... Equally challenging and inspiring is Patrick's spiritual descendant known as Columba or Columcille (Gaelic translation) who went from Ireland to Scotland with the Gospel and the power of God and spread the Word with signs and wonders leading and following....
