If anyone has HBO but has not seen the beginning of this mini-series, this series is definitely worth checking out. I did not expect to like it as I have studied this part of our history countless times in school and I am not a fan of Paul Giamonti in a serious role as I immediately think of him as the Wine Lush from Sideways. But after casually watching it last night, I was blown away. Giamonti is very powerful as John Adams, and I do have to say just the beginning episodes were pretty inspiring even though I thought it would be a boring series about history. It looks like HBO will be having new episodes on Sunday nights but will be re-running them all week long. Its definitely worth checking out as you will be surprised to the quality of this mini-series. Anyone else see John Adam's last night? Any comments?

I watched both episodes last night and have to say, I'm not surprised at how well it is. HBO has always had incredible shows, whether they're actual series (like Six Feet Under, Sopranos, and OZ.) or mini series like Rome and now this. Remember Band of Brothers? It's now on other channels, as is Sopranos. HBO, as far as I'm concerned, is top notch when it comes to things like this. (Though I do love Dexter on Showtime.) Anyway, about the series. I was really impressed with Giamonti's performance and, so far, the show is extremely well cast. I'm anxiously awaiting the next installment!

That is very true I'm a big fan of Band of Brothers and The Wire from HBO. I used to like the Sopranos but after season 2 it went downhill for me. Hopefully the movie is much better than the "ending". I think me not being a fan of Giamonti helped me dismiss this series as going to be mediocre. I am also counting the days til parts 3 & 4. I might even re-watch some of the episodes tonight.

I absolutely loved it last night, so much so that I actually turned off my computer and that doesn't happen much. HBO and Showtime are really turning it up, I almost never watch network programming any more.

It is a shame more people don't have HBO as they are definitely missing out on this great series along with all the other quality programming. Hopefully the History Channel picks it up like they do with Band of Brothers. I'm with you its very hard to watch the main networks after seeing such great quality from HBO and other cable networks.
