Okay, so today I received a wonderful email from my institution saying that my account was on hold for a certain amount. I was kinda of stunned because this NEVER EVER happens. That is not an exaggeration. I preceded to look on my schools website and then shout and DESTROY any and everybody in my path of destruction!!!!! (lol) It seems as if they charged my account a total exceeding over $500 in parking tickets I get around campus because for either: not having my vehicle registered (I dont c the point) or not parking in a designated area. B***sh*t, if u ask me!! Y would "they" let the balance of the tickets reach that much and y does it matter (lol) I go 2 a little a** school in the middle of nowhere (houghton,mi)where it's population barely exceeds 6,000 people. Does your school have any ridiculous rules or r their parking and registering rules stupid? Rant HERE!!!!!

It seems to me that the point, I guess, would be keeping yourself from getting that much of a fine in parking tickets. (I mean that lightly, haha. I'm trying to make light of a sucky situation.)
I'm curious, did they ever actually put tickets on your windshield or anything, or is it just them docking your account in secret without your knowledge or any sort of notification?
My school has a similar system, and because of it I usually end up parking way far from the actual campus buildings because I don't want to deal with the parking fees. (I go to a school that is really small, it maybe has 2,000 people at the most. :P (I've no idea about it's actual specific population.) The walk definitely sucks, and I usually have to come early so I make sure that I can actually find a 'designated' spot. A few people have griped to the administration about the parking situation (they filled in a parking lot for -no- reason in order to make a courtyard of some sort) but so far nothing's been done. I feel your pain.
