Tomorrow I have an interview....

March 17, 2008 6:31pm CST
And it is one of those selection days. It is for a big call centre for a bank in the UK. I have never had one of these selection days so really am quite intrigued to know if any of you have experiences of this and what kind of things I can expect.

Yes I do have experience of these selection day things but by the time you read this it will be over anyway so no point in trying to give you any tips lol. I'm sure you will do well anyway. I think a bank call centre would be ok to work in - most people will probably be polite because they will be after a loan or an overdraft or something like that. I'm always polite when I phone my bank, in fact I'm usually grovelling lol. Anyway, let us know how you got on.

I have no idea what you mean about a "selection day". Best of luck to you on getting the job though... the pay can be really great for call centres. :D

Thank you Karen, from what I can figure out it is a day where they put all the applicants together and set them tasks and see how they perform as part of a team and then from there shortlist people. I am pretty nervous.

I worked in a call centre once... it was for television and radio surveys. I would call people and ask if they were interested in taking part. The interviewing process I did was very minimal. They had me do some data entry tests, which I found out later was an error on their part, as it was for a different job, not the one I was applying for. lol.

I would wish you luck with the interview but as it is 3 months later I think I would be a little too late. Did you end up getting the job? It sounds like it would be a very good job.

i worked at a call center before and like any other jobs you have to be yourself. Think first before answering and keep your cool. Working at a call center is a bit stressful, especially during graveyard shifts, but all it takes is a little patience and hardwork. Have fun and Goodluck! ;]
