Bun George? Who's He? The Funny Things Kids Say!

I seem to be on a kids' trail today. I don't know why, but perhaps the distressing events of late.
Anyway, this time, my mind goes back to when I childminded a little girl named Niamh, from seven months old, to two and a half years. I loved spending time with her... she even had me doing the Teletubbies Dance with her, and rolling around the floor like them. Anything to keep her amused!!!
Anyway, to cut a long story short, when she was two and a half and out of nappies, her Mum sent her to kindergarten, which she loved. Then, one day, Martina (the Mum), had to go for a hospital appointment in London, and she asked me to pick Niamh up from kindergarten, take her home and fix her and myself some lunch. So, I did all this, and we were sat down to lunch, when I asked her to tell me all about kindergarten, and what she liked most.
This is how the conversation went...
Niamh: In the morning, we have to say, "Good Morning, Bun George."
Me:*Scratching my head*... Who's Bun George? Is he somebody at the Kindergaten?"
Niamh: Nooooooooo, Bun George! Like this "Good... morrrrrning...Bun... George."
She was obviously getting frustrated with me, so I made excuse to give it a break, and make myself a coffee. When I returned to the breakfast bar, she kept saying... "Bun George, good morning. Good morning, Bun George." Duhhhh... it suddenly twigged. Yes, the light bulb came on above my head! She was learning French!!! lol What she in effect was saying, was, "Good morning, bonjour." I said "Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, I see what you're saying now." and burst into laughter. She must have thought I was some dumb blonde because she crossed her arms, looked at me indignantly, out of the top of her eyes, and joined in the laughter. From then on, she kept repeating the sentence and laughing at me!
Don't you just love 'em? Any mispronunciation stories, or funny things kids have come out with, to share with us?

Hahahaha well I have to admit that I would have been baffled as well and she would have got even more frustrated with me lol
Well I will have to tell you that when Mel was to she used to say Fork of and I think you know what she was actually saying
I had a lot of Problems to stop her
She heard her Dad say it all the time even though I asked him not to swear in front of the Kids
I have to admit though that it took me a lot of time to realise what she was meaning

Lol... they are funny when just starting out in social circles aren't they? They don't quite understand the word unless it can be shown as real, I don't think. Fork was the nearest word, as was Bun George, lol.
Brightest Blessings, and thank you for your contribution. It's good to laugh from time to time. Love and hugs. xxxx

I was sitting here thinking it was a cartoon character or something. Shame on you for not knowing what she said (kidding) don't worry, I do that all the time with my son. Because English was not his first language, he has trouble pronouncing some words and I often mistake it for something else. I can't think of one now but I do know what you mean :)

She must have thought I was really slow... it made sense to her, but I couldn't for the life of me, grasp what she was saying.
It's quite funny afterwards when you realise your mistake, isn't it? I love kids. Brightest Blessings, and thank you for your contribution.

Ha Ha Ha. I like that. Bun George indeed. I met little Niamh once in the pub didn't I? Little blond haired girl. She's cute and very alert. I think she was about two or three when I saw her. I expect she's at school now.
Trust you not to know what she was saying. lol. Two blonds together is not a good sign. :)
