I have an old computer,i need a virus/spyware program.Is there one that is free?

my choice would be Active Virus Shield (ANTIVIRUS - eventhough it is from KASPERSKY model it is one of the best and FREE editions where it can be used 1 year along with hourly updates and it is compatable on almost all the windows OS) U can also use AVAST Antivirus (free edition) Spybot Search and Destroy (or) Adaware SE Continue using the ZONEALRM firewall

I am using the Antivira AntiVir Classic Edition which is a free antivirus software. It comes with a free update everyday. So better try this one. It easily detects virus.

for free antivirus try the avg antivirus free edtion.... and look in downloads.com for free anti virus programs and firewalls...

For the anti-virus program, you may try AVG.

try using avast.. it is a free edition and it is one of the best anti viruses i used because since i used avast i haven't encountered any viruses in my computer thanks to avast.. :)

hello puretor, what you can do for your computer is look for the free antivirus but not heavy antivirus. Like Norton it is heavy to run with old model computer. Look for avast and avira this is most people use for their old model computer. Only small space need to install. Try to format and install using windows 98 or ME. I thinks XP also heavy to load for old model cmputer.
