Have you experienced big fire in your house or residence. What did you do? What time of day or night was that? Where you at home when it happened? Was there someone affected? Me, I experienced big fire few years back. We were then boarding in an apartment in the city when in happened. We were three in the apartment when at about 12 mn sounds of fire alarm woke us up. We were suprised and when we saw the big smoke we all rushed up going down. We were able to bring with us only handy things because all of us are in a hurry. We just locked the door and there we go out. All of the people living in the same block were all in the streets, and all our things inside were eaten by fire. Most of us stayed in the school near us and the following day we look for another place to stay. We have to start a new, new things, new clothes, household utensils and equipment. And because we are just boarding at that time we dont have much of the house furnishings and big homes. But to think it big, how about those whose big houses and all furnishing goes into smoke. We really have to take care of our homes always and fire insurance can help.

I have experienced three fires in my life so far. One was my own home when I was a child, I came home from school my mum was in the house next door and I opened the front door and hallway was on fire, it started with a parfin heater left on, it was mainly smoke damage and thankfully no-one was hurt. The second was as an adult visiting a friend with my two children I had at the time and she had five and two of their friends playing, there was an electrical fault on a cooker and before we knew it whole kitchen was in flames, we were three and four floors high, but managed to get 8 of the nine children out before the smoke and flames wouldn't allow us, at this stage still awaiting fire service, the ninth child luckily was gymnastic and jumped from fourth floor to a balcony below, injuring ankle but lept to next house balcony along and escaped that way. We were taken by ambulance to hospital, I was on a double oxygen mask with one of the children and treated for smoke inhalation but we were all ok. Just very shocked obviously. The last and hopefully very last I will experience was in fact a car fire. The engine set on fire at a fuel pump on petrol station forecourt. I managed to jump back it car and get off of forecourt safely away from pumps before it was totally engulfed. Again no injuries but road was shut for two hours whilst they cleared and made petrol station safe again. Truamatice experiences for anyone to have to go through and I am sorry to hear of your one. sorry to hear that also. At least you and your love ones are safe and sound. We must be all fire conscious. Thanks for the response.

Thank God this has happened to me only once. It was when I used to live in Cavite, Philippines and it New Year's Eve was coming to a close. We just got our new pc so me and my brother pretty much locked ourselves up in our room playing computer games and such. Until one day, about some time in mid day I have just woken up, my brother was on the computer and not knowingly in our terrace outside a fire was starting to build. My parents are both at work, our helper was busy with something or i dont know and my sister and my cousin were off somewhere. Then I went out the room to go to the bathroom and do the morning rituals and to my surprise as I looked outside there was a big fire!! I freaked out and ran back to the bathroom to get a pail of water but as I went back to our terrace our very nice neighbor has come and extinguished the fire. It burned the ceiling black, and one of our sofa to ashes. We found out that the cause of the fire was fireworks that my sister and cousin were playing before they went to the playground that day. I think, they tried lighting one and thought it didn't work so they just left it in our sofa.
