Finally, i've got a star!

Thanks to all fellow mylotters and my hard work ,i finally get a star ahead of my name since i got access to mylot two weeks ago. However, what disappointed me a little bit is , the number in my star is only 3.I just saw a friend who post 100 posts and get a star with number 7, i have also posted 100 posts but only get a star with number 3.Why? Can anyone tell me about this?

Hey, that's great!!! I'm sure that if you keep responding and make sure your responses are long enough, you should be able to pull that up!!! I was surprised today to see that mine has gone up to an 8. I started at a 5 so it is possible to move up fast. Don't give up!!! It will get better!!!

Your star rating is based on other people's ratings of your discussions and responses. If you get more positive ratings, your star rating will go up, and if you get more negative ratings, your star rating will go down.
So, if you want a higher star rating, all you have to do is post quality discussions and responses!
Don't worry about your present star rating too much, I started off with a star rating of 3 also, but since then I've gone up to having a star rating of 9.

Thank you for your response. And i wonder in which circumstance will others rate my discussions and responses. Maybe the discussions i started is not intresting or the responses i posted not so good? i'll do better.
