th last pair i bought last year cost about Php3000 (philippine peso) but i got in on sale 50% so i only paid Php1500.. it's better that the fila i bought which i paid for the same price (3000 also but on sale as well for 1500). i've worn the fila one for a year but worn out easily after a month of badminton.. the nike is still alive after months of dancing and walking.... so i guess it's a good deal.. i'll buy one if there's a sale again.. hahahaha...

Well, I bought mine around 2 1/2 years ago, and they cost me 60$ Canadian(around the same in US$ these days). So I guess it is a good investment considering basic shoes from Wal-Mart can cost around 25-30$ and last only a year.

I buy my shoes at discount retailers selling last seasons popular style. They are just as good as the new style, in fact most of them have the original price stickers on the box, but they are half the price.
I used to think Nikes were the best athletic shoe made, and the ones they sell to athletes might well be, but what i see on the shelves aren't as good as the ones I got as a kid, and I was a lot harder on shoes 20 years ago than I am now.
My preference for construction and fit these days is actually new balance.
