The thai govt is planning to give whistles to women tourists for their safety and ensuring that help is just a whistle blow away after the rape and murder of a tourist at one of its most popular destinations. The same step should be taken by the Indian govt too after reports of women tourists being harassed at different places, particularly in Goa, where a teenager was raped and murdered recently. The whistle, to be worn around the neck, may look absurd but if it works, then why not use it? Some women might have issues though with a ribbon around their neck. Are you one?
