Will you be having a huge dinner this Easter?

My husband and I have been married for almost 7 years now and believe it or not, this subject never came up. Growing up, my family has always had a huge "Easter Dinner." We prepare this great meal and go to a family member's house after church and continue to celebrate the fact the Jesus died for us and was then raised for the redemption of sin. Now my husband is a Christian too, but his family has never done this. We both grew up in the Church of God in Christ denomination, but they treat easter like any other day. Don't get me wrong, in the literal sense, Easter Sunday is "just another day." But the "church" has decided to recognize the death and resurrection of Christ on this day. My questions to you are, does your family get together in this day? Regardless of your denomination, what are your traditions on Easter Sunday? Are you one of those people who go to church only on Easter, Mother's Day and for your Christmas program? I'm interested in knowing.

This is my first Easter away from my children, who are now grown. I always made a nice dinner and we had birthday cake for dessert--when my eldest was about six we were discussing Christmas and Easter and he likened Easter to another birthday for Jesus. This year I'll buy a tiny cake instead of making one from scratch and probably buy a piece of ham and bake a potato. I'll go to Church, probably, for the first time in years. That'll be nice.

To tell you the truth we do not usually do anything special over easter, we do not make a big effort to get family over, but my parents are popping over to bring the kids their easter eggs and so I might just throw a few snacks together for them, but I will not be making a big meal. I am not religious, I have my beliefs but I believe in them my own way and so do not need to go to church to believe. My grandma will probably go to church, she has turned to the church a lot over the last 11 years or so, for her it is a great comfort.
