No, not the stuff in the box, silly!
I need help ...
I just realized I don't have any meat in the house but do have a couple of cans of tuna, so figured I'd make some sort of tuna casserole.
How do you make yours?
What's your favorite dish with tuna?

I think that tuna can easily substitute for chicken in so many recipes.
If I were to make a tuna meal tonight I think it would be a tuna noodle casserole - after all the ingredients are together in the baking dish I would go ahead and crush some sour cream and onion chips over the top for some added interest.
You can also make a salmon loaf recipe only substituting the tuna for the salmon.
I often will make a cream based soup such as corn or potato chowder - adding in a can of tuna and some green peas.
let us know what you come up with - as I am always looking for ways to serve a meatless meal.

What do you put in your casserole?
Macaroni or noodles? Sour Cream? Can of creamed soup? Vegetables?

whoops, regarding the tuna casserole - I do not measure anything and it is likely never the same twice -
but I do like to sautee chopped onions, garlic and celery in butter and then to that I might add a can of cream of mushroom soup or a pint of sour cream. I also add in some cheddar. I might put cream cheese in instead. A dash of worcestershire sauce and hot sauce salt pepper
oh yes, I also will throw in some sweet peas either frozen or canned and I like a few slices of tomatoes to lay across the top.

I don't follow a recipe for things like that either, and it sounds like what I do is very similar to yours.
Thanks!

I've run into that myself on occasion. I get out my handy fry pan and throw about a 1/4 cup of butter in and melt in then I saute an onion until it is transparent and a pepper if I have one. Then I add a few tablespoons of flour in and salt and pepper and about half a cup grated cheddar cheese and enough milk to make a thick sauce then I throw in a can of tuna and a can of mushroom soup and heat it up. Meanwhile I cook some egg noodles or any noodles I have then throw those together in a casserole dish and cover it in cheese and breadcrumbs and bake it until it bubbles at about 350. That is my tuna helper recipe and about the only way I get hubby to eat tuna!

sounds good to me too, whywiki - don't you just love the smell of onions sauteing in butter?
I found that recipe for the tuna cakes at krafts food, I think they look great and will probably make them tomorrow if I can get out to the store for tuna... if not then on friday.
here is a link to it

I ma sorry that I really don't have idea of how to make tuna casserole. I never make them as the only canned tuna which i eat is the one for the sandwich spread which ready to eat. I do eat tuna a lot since we can have it here with a cheap price. But then, I only have the fresh one which sold daily at our wet market here in my state. We cook fresh tuna in different kind of dish, mostly i like when it is fried with some marinate, cooked in curry, cooked in coconut milk, cooked in some dried chili paste, and some other more.

My kids won't eat any casseroles, so here's what I do. I make Tuna Melts! But I don't make them open faced like in the restaurants. I make them like I would make a grilled cheese sandwich, but put tuna in with the cheese. It turns out really good!

Now see, I like tuna, and I like cheese, but I don't like a tuna melt.
Weird, huh?

Every now and then I get a craving for a good old fashioned tuna melt. Just mix drained tuna with chopped onion, pickles and mayonnaise. Spread some on a pre-toasted bun, then top with a slice of cheese and return to the broiler until the cheese has melted. If you want an extra boost of protein in there you can add some chopped hard boiled egg to your tuna mix.
I especially like a tuna melt with a bowl of tomato soup on a cold day.

Like I said above, I don't like a tuna melt and I have no idea why. I like both tuna and cheese, but not together like that.
I love grilled cheese with tomato soup. I think its a law or something that you have to eat those together.
