What would you say is better, Windows XP or Vista?

I used Windows XP straight from its release with no problems and always admired it. However, after my old computer broke and I got a Vista voucher ready for Vista's release with my new one, I bought Vista and I have had many many problems with it, such as flash not working in Internet Explorer after a short while causing problems for programs. I had to get firefox to sort that problem out. So do you Vista uses thing Vista is worth its trouble for its better look and settings, or were you more happy with Windows XP? I would definitely say I was happier with Windows XP.

It really depends on the age of the computer, because Vista has serious compatability problems with older hardware and software. I have Vista on my laptop and system runs fine, whereas I am running Windows XP on the desktop because Vista would cause a myriad of issues with my sound card, CD writer and many of the programs that I use.

I love Vista for its features....the presentation is awesome...basically better than Xp...but performance wise i heard n believe that Xp has an upper hand rather than Vista....the basic problem of Vista is its slow functionality which never apperciated in this fast world...so definitely i too would prefer Xp than Vista......

Windows XP is definitely more stable, seeing it has been around since 2002 and that they already have service pack 2 and upcoming service pack 3 to make it more robust.. Vista looks good with great user interface..However, it has incompatibility issues with many software and the hardware requirement is fairly high... Vista is definitely not worth it, but Microsoft is pushing the OS out....If you go out and check the new PCs these days, they are all with Vista now, and no more XP..

It's clear that if Microsoft people relased a new windows they have some good reasons. The best of vista is: - more stability and optimation of the OS. - a nice interface. However it has not a good compatibility for softwares, a protection system that is too boring, and lots of other negative things. So I prefer Windows XP!!!
