I haven't gotten stretch marks yet I don't think, I'm 5 months so far. I keep thinking that I get them but its just from me scratching my belly lol.
I've just now been starting to use the cocoa butter because before my stomach wasnt big at all but in the last month it really popped out.
Stretch marks dont go away after you get them either, do they?

I actually did not have stretch marks while I was pregnant. The strangest thing happened. A few months after my babyman arrived, I saw four of them across my belly. My husband rubbed stretch mark cream and cocoa butter on my belly every night during the pregnancy and reassured me that none existed. Strange huh?

I do not have ANY stretch marks. This is what I have heard and what I know from experience. Stretch marks are based partially on genetics, if your mom and sisters or other female relatives got them, it's more likely you will. They are caused by breakdown of the fibers of your skin internally, so using cocoa butter or other lotions and creams won't really help if you're prone to getting them. I do think that lotions can help reduce them but it won't prevent them in the first place. Drinking more water and staying hydrated can also help your skin stay elastic and cut down on getting them, but again that won't prevent them.
I have a funny story related to stretch marks. I was about 8 months pregnant at this time and my husband and I took a road trip to visit a friend of mine. We were playing a game with my friend and her hubby, and it's one of those games where you partner up, draw a card, and you have to get your partner to guess what is on the card but there are up to 5 or 7 words you CANNOT say to describe the word(s). This one sticks out to me because I got it instantly without even thinking. When my friend started the timer, my husband looks at the card, looks at me, looks at the card, looks at my belly, and goes 'you don't have any of these yet' and I yelled 'STRETCH MARKS!' which was indeed what was on the card. LMAO! I don't tend to do good at games like that but this time I got an A+.

I've got stretch marks in places I didn't even know you could get them. (Gained 80lbs. with my son.) They don't go away but I heard there are creams to make them less visible. Stretch marks come from growing too much too fast, I believe.

For my first pregnancy, I didn't get stretchmarks because I religiously applied cocoa butter all over my tummy while I was pregnant. I don't really know if it was because of the cocoa butter, but it worked for me.
For my second pregnancy, I used cocoa butter again. That was until I got too lazy to apply it later on during the pregnancy and stretchmarks started to show around my navel on my 3rd trimester. *sigh* ...if only I hadn't been too lazy to apply the cocoa butter. :(
I do think there are some creams that can be applied to lessen the visibility of the stretchmarks. Now, that I have yet to try.
Take care of your little one! :)

Hey, I have heard cocoa butter helps but there is this stuff to use they sell it at kmart and walmart for stretch marks. They also sell it at maternity places also. My stretch marks never went away but nothing I did worked. I hope it works for you.
