we all know i give money to homeless people anywhere from change up to two dollars. Anywho there is this homeless guy in my city that looks like a figure skater cause his hair is long and slicked back but hes kind of balding and its sort of layered so he looks like a figure skater. anyways i was coming out of marias taco shop and hes sitting out there. i just caught him out of the corner of my eye so i did a double take. well im fricking broke right now but i decided to treat me and my boyfriend to an eight dollar dinner on my card. anyways he asks me for a few dollars. a few dollars mind you. and i say sorry i only have my card. being completely honest because if i could afford it and i did have cash on me id have given it to him or bought him something to eat from the taco shop. and so he shoots back with a harsh okay fine look i was just asking for a few dollars. i dont even know what to say....and to think i was thinking of giving him the cheese it box from out of my car. wtf dude. like im going to give you anything now. ugh.

LOL kiobug haha that has happened to be before too. I just shrugged it off and said sorry. I don't often carry cash on me and when I do it's usually to buy milk and bread at the local store.

I get cussed out all the time when I ignore people or refuse to give them money. A lot of the people that beg for money have nicer cars, clothes, etc, than I do. One person drove up to me in a Camero and asked for money. I had someone else beg for money from me at the car wash when they drove up to me in a Cadillac that was 10 years newer than my Ford Granada. I mean, I obviously don't have any money, so I don't know why they even ask.
I heard something about that most of the people who beg for money on the street actually have homes to go to and live a pretty good lifestyle. I can't name the source, I think it was quoted on a local radio station. They did some kind of study and found that most of these people are doing pretty well.

I was asked for 'money to buy a cup of tea' in the local city centre once - the guy obviously didn't recognise the fact that he actually lives in the same street as me...!! He was as homeless as I am. I will often buy 'the big issue' magazine from street vendors because you know those guys are trying to make a difference, and they are at least homeless or in a hostel. Someone just slouched in the corner with a cup who has the cheek to complain really isn't worth your time. Someone like that has no dignity and sadly probably no hope...

I would say he was not really 'homeless', because those that are genuine are very accepting that not everyone will or can help them and are very greatful when people do.

That's ridiculous. I think that Mr. Figure Skater needs to get an attitude adjustment. When he's coming up to -you- and asking -you- for -your- hard earned money, he should be grateful. He should be happy that you aren't one of the people that would respond with an irritated 'no' and tell him to get a job. I mean, honestly, there's no excuse for him being rude like that.
Yeah, I get it, he's homeless. That sucks. It's not your fault, so there's no reason for him to have given you an attitude.
