Big Brother 9: What do you think of James now?

I'm disappointed in what he did last night. When he and Natalie were hanging on the disco balls, he promised not to put Matt on the block. Now he has back doored him.
I suppose I understand why he did it. He found out that Matty didn't vote him back into the house. But still, I admired James when he won HOH, that at least he kept his word when it was nomination time.
Now he's just like all the others-- his word means nothing.
I don't particualrly like Matty, but he did make the show entertaining. He finally saw how Natalie feels for him and the lengths she would go to protect him. What James said in his POV speech last night, that it's clear that Matt and Natalie are working as a team- well, that's lame. What does he think he and Chelsia are doing?
You disappointed me James. I hope you're gone next week!!

I loved it!!!
He didn't put Matt on the block to start with, so he really didn't lie about it. Then he found out that Matt had been lieing to him all long,so he deserved it.
I'd love to see Matt go! He is so obnoxious. He doesn't even like Natalie unless she is doing something to help him.
I say, Yeah to James!!

Can't agree with you on this, sunshine. He lied as far as I'm concerned. Not to say Matt doesn't deserve it- he is a jerk. But James gave Natalie his word and he used his POV win as a "loophole". Plus he was a wimp about it- he didn't say that Matt lied to him, he tried to use the Matt/Nat alliance as his reason. I hope he and Chelsia get put up next week!
Oh well~~ at least it's making for some interesting TV.....

I agree Sunshine! He did keep his word not to put him up on the block when he became HOH! And, he actually didn't plan on backdooring anyone first until he really started understanding just how much he can't trust Matt.
I think he made a strategic move that, while it may hurt him, it has as equal a chance of helping him.
No one plays this game honestly. And, no one that has ever tried has won the game. So, he did exactly what was needed!

Yes, at least this drama is keeping us interested in the show!!
Everyone makes deals and then goes back on them. He really didn't. James didn't put Matt up until after pov. Nat should have made that stipulation too.

I was happy about it. Matt can't tell the truth...not one time in the house...so why should James? It would have been nice for James to show that he is a man of his word but, Big Brother isn't a game of honesty. It is a game of, "get your threats out when you have the chances or you will lose the game" and, I think James did just that. Look at the path of the Big Brother HG's before him. It is riddled with people who made the wrong move and didn't take the opportunity to take out the threats when they had the chance to do so. Then, the next week, those threats took them out instead. Matt can't be trusted.
And, as far as him really seeing how much Natalie cares for him...yup! He sure did. And he used it to get yet another BJ from her by telling her he would give her a hug if she gave him a BJ. Yup! He sure did see how much she cares for him, and all he did is use it to yet another one of his advantages. The man is disgusting and, regardless of how James did it, I say good riddance to bad rubbish to Matt!

Yes, it was a strategic move on James' part, I agree with you on that. I guess I'm bummed because FOR ONCE I'd like to see someone win this game while keeping his/her integrity and not lying. Guess it's impossible.

Oh, cortjo, I don't have the live feeds so I missed the BJ thing. How gross!

I agree! It would be nice to see someone win with integrity but, this is a dog eat dog game. It has been from the start and, I don't see it ever changing. Unfortunately!
And, yes! The BJ thing was gross. What is worse is that she is done it for him no less than twice and possibly as much as 6 times. The first one happened on their 2nd day in the house. So, the guy gets what he deserves. Also, he has been very vocal about having "left the love of his life to be on Big Brother" and yet, he keeps getting BJ's from Natalie while making out with Sharon and Chelsia. I can't remember if he made out with Amanda or Allison. He hasn't made out with Sheila. So, I guess he has some standards. I just think that his character warrants James screwing him over. Too dang bad. You get back what you put out into the world and, he has screwed over his girlfriend at home, Natalie, James, and pretty much everyone else in the house so...you get what you give! Enjoy the spoils Matt! It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!

I don't admire him b/c he did not keep his word. Keeping his word would mean NEVER putting Matt on the block during that HOH cycle.
I never wanted James to win and I still don't. I am annoyed with him moreso now b/c he could at least say "ok, I broke my word" but instead he's trying to justify what he did. A person cannot break their word just b/c of a change of events "well I was gonna keep my word until I found out this"
Ok, as for working as a team. Sharon/Josh, Adam/Sheila, Nat/Matt, Chelsea/James.... so technically there are a lot of teams there! In fact, Ryan is the only one they SHOULDN'T be scared of right now b/c everyone else in the house is still pretty much working with their partner. I thought it was lame too and thought James should have said he knew Matt was the third vote.

I think james did the right thing. i think it was more that matt kept lying to james instead of admitting that he was the third vote. I think his word probably is still good, atleast as good as anyone else in the house. everyone lies on big brother, its the only way to get anywhere in the game. He and chelsea are working together, but they wouldn't make the type of deal that natalie made. they each have their own minds. natalie did whatever matt told her to do. she's a mindless idiot when he's around, i think it will be interesting to see how she acts when he's gone.
