Does anyone know of any legal ways to raise your credit score? I am hoping to buy a house soon, and want to make sure that I get the best rate possible. I have had credit problems in the past and though I have moved past that I still cannot get a credit card or loan. I am sure that I will still qualify for a mortgage, but I want a better rate. Any one have any good ideas?

Why are you so anxious to buy a house? You are still young. If I were you, I would try to rent one. I think this idea is not that bad, is it?

I'm not sure of what the methods are for raising your credit score, but have you considered looking into buying a home on forclosure? a lot of times you can find decent homes in decent neighborhoods fairly inexpensively that way.

I have not looked into that yet. I have looked at home auctions that tend to sell for quite low but most require like 10% down. If I buy a 300K house that would be $30,000 and I dont have that much. I suppose I could save though thaty way my payments would be less.
