The Black Stallion. The movie is all about a boy and a horse shipwrecked on an island. The film is one of the most powerfully beautiful sets of moving images I have ever seen on screen. The cinematography is astonishing, the score is beyond compare as to how well it fits with what is happening on screen. This is not just a good film , this is a masterpiece

It does sound brilliant. I will have to check it out one day. It sounds like a really great idea for a movie.

Well two that came right to mind with this question were "Homeward Bound" and "K-9". There are a lot of great movies out there with animals though that I really enjoy. The live action of "101 Dalmatians", "Top Dog", "Flipper", "Zeus and Roxanne", "Mouse Hunt" are just a few that come to mind. I have to admit I'm a sucker for movies with animals. I enjoy them so much. They might make me cry but they usually make me laugh too and just feel good all the way around.

I didn't care for the second one that much. The first one though was excellent. They did a great job of turning it into the Live action the way they did. Glenn Close was perfect as Cruella.

Ole Yeller is about an old yellow dog that is set in the old west here in the the US. He is dog that moves in with a homesteader family and isn't welcome at first except by a very young boy. The dog saves the older brothers life and then saves the family from a wild wolf that has rabies them he gets rabies and has to be put down.

The last time I watched the Lion King was when I was very little. I'm suprised I haven't watched it for a long while with so much hype and it being such a well known classic!
Will definitely have to see if any friends have it on video and give it another watch.

Even though I've more than outgrown it, one of my favorite movies is still The Adventures Of Milo And Otis. I don't know why, but it just sticks with me. It's so adorable. I even like the music. It's like that little slice of childhood you can take with you into adulthood. I also love the Disney cartoons with animals, like All Dogs Go To Heaven and such.

I remember that I have read the book Black Beauty as a kid but can't at all remember what happens.
Horses are beautiful creatures though! I'm definitely going to have to re-read and check out the film.

I have seen both of those movies. I enjoyed both but I liked Paulie way better. I don't know what would be my favorite movies with animals in it. I liked homeward bound. I can't really think of any that are not animated right now. I will have to get back to ya about this. :)
