How Hot Can You Eat Your Curry?

I like spicy food but have never even tried a Vindaloo.
Has anyone ever eaten a Phall (the hottest curry ever, I think) and do your taste buds still function?

I love hot and spicy food, especially curry. I can eat as hot as I can find. I do not know the spelling you are after but I can tell you, if it is hot.... I will eat it. :)

But can you still taste it?
Could you put five drops of tabasco sauce (undiluted chilli) on your tongue and not have watering eyes?
