You see my smile because it is what I want you to see.
You will never truly know the person that is me.
You don't see the tears that I've so often cried.
You'll never know how much of my soul has whithered and died.
I am an illusion. A trick. This life I live is a lie.
Every day that passes is simply just another day gone by.
Nothing more than smoke and mirrors, and a magicians slight of hand.
I have blinded you so easily. Oh, isn't ignorance grand!

Well written! How many people can relate to this I wonder, with the masks we wear in our everyday lives?
That's part of my current goal, though, to destroy those masks I wear and show the world more of my true self. That's why my motto is "I am the same person in all worlds".

That was my motto. As my friends offline that have taken up space here on the lot can attest. I am as me here as I am everywhere else. But it has just recently been brought to my attention that the me that I am still isn't the me that I am. I know that didn't confuse you. You are too smart to let some little double talk like that get the better of you.

The me that I am still isn't the real me either, but I'm trying to change that. I don't think you've confused me, at least.
Identity is a major topic for me, because at different points in my life I even went by different names based on the way I was viewing myself at the time. I have a lot of "me's" in a way, and trying to create a coherent whole from them is something that is going to be my quest for a long time, I think.

ive never been good at this poetry crap but that is just what i got from it.
