Anyone scared of lightning and thunderstorms?

I love storms if I am indoors, at night. Love to sit with a blanket around my legs, a cup of hot tea or coffee, the window with the screens/curtains drawn on one side (so that the lightening doesn't blind , if sitting facing the window, but some flashes are sometimes so strong, if close by that you could get momentarily blinded), maybe reading or watching something, my family huddled close, my youngest son with his head on my lap or his mother's lap, all of us speaking in hushes, just huddling close, no fear of storms in me though. Maybe a small lamp, or in the dark.

I love the violence and excitement of the storms. I even went tornado chasing with my first husband. Even the smell of a storm excites me. On the other hand, my dog is terrified of thunder. Even when she is safe in the house and I give her constant reassurance, she tries to run away and hide. This is very dangerous for her because sometimes she gets out of the yard or house and runs madly down the street without even looking where she is going. I worry that she could get hurt or killed becasue she is so afraid. I remember watching my god daughter during storms. She would get in her bed. cover herself up with blankets and weep. She was so afraid, and her fear was very real. I try to remember that just because I like something, it can be very scary to someone else. So when the dog tries to run, I try to be understang to her because I think her fear is just as real as my god daughter's.

Not at all. I find thunderstorms exhilarating.

I dont particularly fear the storms.but don't like the noise of thunder too well or the high winds or the lightning. Good topic..thanks for asking

I love a good thunderstorm. It helps me sleep better. Especially to hear the rain pouring down. I just love it.

No, I love the storms, but the wind, well that get to me a bit since it took out 3 arces of trees allaound my house. but never touched the house.

yup especially a super lightning.. really really scary so dont get out for 30 mins. or it will hit you..

I have sensative hearing so I really dont like them at all especailly when they are really close.

I'm not scared of the lightening and thunder. I do not like the wind! As long as it's not gusting, than I'm fine.

I love to watch the lighting from a safe place. Love to hear the thunder It's not a time I would be out wondering around.

oh yeah. hate them. expecially since i am here alone when it happens
