On Sunrise (news), the other day they were discussing what distracts drivers the most. THey also stated that males are more distracted then women whilst driving as they get distracted easily be all the gadgets. WHat do you think, do you think men are more distracted when driving or women? Also what distracts you the most when driving. I think sometimes I can be dstracted by the radio, when I change CDS in the car, I have sometimes lost concentration a little when driving.
They also said on Sunrise that drinking a cold beverage can be a big distraction, using mobile phones, etc. What i don't understand is how people can drive when they have portable DVD players in their car, I would be distracted by the images. How about you?

My kids screaming in the backseat can distract me. And yes taking a drink of my diet coke or dialing a cell phone can be distrative I have even seen people being distracted from eating or putting on makeup or reaching back to hand their baby a bottle.

Yes they should have mentioned that on the news show, kids can be a big distraction I think, more then mobile phones, drinks, or people taling. Good point raised, thanks for your response.

I have been driving for only a year, and having a conversation with a passenger sometimes distracts me. I prefer either music or silence. For some real actual "chat" distracts me. Perhaps its due to having to pay attention to the conversation, where as with music there is no real need to focus on the words being sung. And silence is always nice.

Yes sometimes having conversation can distract you as you are focussing on what they ar saying. I like to listen to music too, whilst driving keeps you awake and focussed. Thanks for your response.

Hi balasri, yes I agree chatterboxes can be distracting. I think music is good too as it keeps you awake when driving. Thanks for your repsonse.

when my wife is trying to give directions but instead of saying left or right points - very distracting when you have to look rather than just hearing which way to go

Yes that would be distracting trying to watch where your wife is pointing when driving. Be careful, thanks for your response.
