All that glitters is not gold!!!

I think this applies in our real lives more than we allow ourselves to believe, UBiquitous. People run after things that may not make them happy in their lives and people do pay attention to and believe in appearances, however ugly the reality of something is. I do take people on face value initially but only in positive sense. This means that I would consider a person good, intelligent, honest, truthful, trustworthy and humane unless proved otherwise. I know quite a few rich people who do welfare, religious leaders who are self righteous, politicians who devote themselves for people, Army officers who have medals, but they do ugly things. All those people are apparently charming in one way or the other, but in reality, they are involved in most abhorrent activities. On the other side, there are people as ordinary, apparently, as peons, sweepers, gardeners, small stall retail sellers who have great souls and minds, who speak words of wisdom and who spend blissful lives. But, one can only see all this, both positive and negative, when one get close to people. Similarly, there are material things that appear to make us joyous; money, charm, fame, respect, glamour, property and such. In reality, they can not make us happy; it’s how we use them that will make us happy. I’ll stop my rambling here! LOL!

Hi UBiquitous . how are you ? Hope u must be enjoying your stay here . Yes i do agree that everything/every1 who attracts you like a gold, isn't really a gold. Thats true. in todays world, its really hard to examine which person is really the same from inside as that looks / talks or u see that person. In this world its bit hard to judge which person is best , which person is really speaking what he really mean by his soul / heart. Yes i am quite good in juding people you know :p My 6th sense do work well, and i do judge people to the extent they r in real. And i have applied this thing, practically i got positive answers that i am fine in judging others. I can see the persons inner thoughts and opinions, how that person is , what is he actually... by just having a look on the person. Whether females or males i do judge almost 80% accurate .

Make sure it's genuine gold...if it glitters . Actually we are very much driven by our first impressions and we try to improve our images to make it glitter. We are becoming superficial by education nowadays. And to use your metaphor further...it's good to look like gold, we all like it...but what value does that gold have?...that comes only when interested in the real substance.

I don't judge people too for the simple reason that I don't want to be judged myself too. But there are times that there are some people who annoy me. They have not done anything wrong or even say anything bad to me but I felt not confortable being around with them. I guess it's just some bad feeling. I know it is unfair but sometimes I can't help it. I can easily tell if a person is a show off or not by the way they look, smile and talk with me. Or sometimes, I can also sense that even the person is rich, he or she is down-to-earth and easy to get along with. Maybe I just have a good intuition. No not all that glitters is gold... diamonds glitters too... it is more brilliant in fact.
