I don't understand why it costs so much to get a hair cut. My hair is not long, not even neck line, and most places are charging around $30.00 to cut my hair. That is crazy! I'm not getting a fancy cut, just a trim!! Why why why does it cost so much??!!

hey they charge this price because they can because poeple do pay that why...i know its silly price but choose the location away from town as they wont charge as much as they expenses wont be as much as for someone renting nearer town...i know it sounds silly but i have my own business and no location is the main factor as prices on rent go up and down and they charge so they can cover there costs....Its high consisdering they just use a pair of siscor which gets replaced once a year if that...x

Thats EXACTLY what i thought sld1966... i could never understand why my haircut always cost £30 or more, for a few minutes work.. and i still left the salon feeling like my hair didnt look as good as it should.
So... i cut my own hair now lol. Believe oit or not, its really not as hard as it looks, and with my Hairdressers Razor, from Boots, (cost just a few pounds, very cheap), i can put my shaggy, toussled layers in my own hair.
I can honestly say that since i started doing it myself, my hair definitely looks better, because who's going to care most about getting your hair just right?.. yourself of course!
I started by practicing on my side-fringe, then on my layers at the sides, and now i can do my whole hair,... witha tiny bit of help from my partner for the very back bits.. even HE can opperate the razor really well!
So now, when i give myself a trim, i put teh £30 it would have cost at the hairdressers in my savings account.. and im saving to have my Boobs done in Prague.. amazing how much you can save, and what you can have instaed of a poor but expensive haircut!
Try it baby. xxxxxx

Well, there are some places, especially very fancy ones that charge a lof of money for a haircut. Unless you go to a regular salon that dosen't have a well known name you should be ok. We have salons here that only charge 5-8 dollars per haircut. Cheaper than 30 dollars and they do a fine job.
Try to look for something a little less costly. The best of luck to you in that department.

My best guess is because the hairdresser is being prepared for not receiving a tip? Or maybe their supplies is expensive and they need to pay for it somehow?
I know what you mean, getting a haircut is not cheap. I went to a girl that cuts hair from her house, and I got a cut and streaks, and she charged me $80. I loved the cut and style but not the price.
I guess I got what I paid for too.
