When I wash dishes I always rinse the dishwashing liquid off. I have seen people fill the sink with water add dishwashing liquid put the dishes in wash them in the water and put them to dry. So by the time they wash everything the water is filthy. I never eat there or drink. Do you rinse your dishes?

I rinse my dishes. I don't have a dishwasher but my grandparents do and when I went there for holidays my grandma was using it and to be honest, I found that using a dishwasher still wasn't to my liking. I prefer to just suds them up and rinse them under running water.

when I worked we always washed the dishes in the dishwasher and they were discusting because the food was never cleaned properly or plates put properly and the dishwasher was never cleaned so it left the place looking in worse condition than when they went in. My sister has a dishswasher that she takes good care off and I just love the job it does her dishes look perfect.

not all dishwashers are the same and I belive that you have to clean them regularly to perform well like we do with our vacum cleaner, washing machine or any other machine at home.

That is exactly why I didn't like my grandmothers dishwasher. But I didn't want to mention it above because that is my only experience with a dishwasher and I thought maybe something was wrong with hers, lol. It would have very small specks of food here and there on the dishes, I like my dishes to look spotless.

When I do my dishes i first scrap as much food off as possible then rinse to get more off. I don't like food bits floating the dish water. If I have quit a few dishes I even change the water. After I wash them I rinse them. I don't see how any one could not rinse the soap off. I don't like the taste of soap on my dishes. My ex daughter-in-law also didn't like to wash the back or out side of her dishes. I have to watch the kids to make sure that they get the backs and outside of the dishes clean.

What??????? not geting the sides and the backs washed? so what is the point of washing then. We are going on a long holiday so when I get back I will go back to work (after 5 years) and I will buy a dishwasher and I am going to get the same as my sister I just love the job it does. I hate the taste of soap as well expecially on glass or when I see little bubles forming as you fill the glass and they are not going away (clear sign of presence of soap) :)

well that makes sence (sort of) but if you put the plates in another plate or food drips on the side :)

I've never seen anyone do that....but yes, I wouldn't like to eat or drink there either. But everyone I know rinses the soap off. Most of the people I know use dishwash bars. I use both...a bar sometimes and a liquid sometimes. With the bar, it's obvious you have to rinse it off...and no one I know fills their sink with water and cleans their dishes. We all prefer running water.

I wash them under running water but as I have 2 sinks I put my dishes in one and use spoonge and soap and clean them and put them in the second sink and then when I have cleaned few I rinse under runing water.

I have see in few times expecially in little clubs, organisations and such things. But in private houses as well. I understand if they have 2 sinks and fill one up and wash the dishes with soap in that and put it in the other to be rinsed but some people when they do that they dont rinse them.

Hi there... We sure do, otherwise we'd have a sink full of food scraps and which would cause some unwanted blockages... We have our children practicing this habit too, that all food scraps be scraped into the scrap container first, then plates to be rinsed off, as we dont have one of those waste disposal systems in the sink...

In Australia I have never see one of those waste disposal system I dont even know how they work and good thing we dont or my son would have it on all day every day. I have one of those things that go over the hole that holds all the rubish that way if something goes in the sink it wont go down the pipes.

there is nothing worse than the taste of dishwashing liquid when you drink water or matbe floating food on top of the water.

Well now I have a dishawasher but before then I always rinsed them with clean un-soapy water after!
My husband doesn't, and it really irritates me. Surely you'd be ingesting some of the washing up liquid with your food then? Ewww!

I dont have a dishwasher as well I find that with just 3 people in the house it is not worth it having one. It would take out some of my storage space away and it will never be used economicly.
As for the dishes how can people eat off dishes that have bits of their previus meal still on them and soap as well.
