well i have 3 cats.2 shorthaired one long. and there is no catching up with the sweeping for me. i sweep every day and it seems like as soon as i get done sweeping there is cat hair all over the floor again. and a large majority of my house is hardwood. so you cant really vacume unless you have the right attachments.

I totally agree with you. I have 6 cats, one who is a long hair. Three of my cats shed something terrible. You just have to touch our female cat, and hair is everywhere. As soon as I vacuum or sweep, about ten minutes later, it looks like I never did it in the first place. The carpet in our living room is the worst. Often when I vacuum, I have to use the brush and really get the hair up good. I have found that a shop vac works better because it has better suction though. And if you use a steam cleaner, that will get all the hair trapped deep in your carpet.

We have 4 cats. So Ev-Er-Y- DAY I have to sweep or vac the floors. And If I dont, I get so behind and its messy and "icky". I got leather furniture just because we have cats and their fur is everywhere, it drives me nuts but I do love my fur babies.

It is not an everyday think around here since most of our pets have their own room in the basement where they spend all of their time while they are in the house. One of the cats is the only one leaving hair in the main area of the house and he spends most of his time outside. The floor in the kitchen gets swept at least once a day, but that is because of a messy baby not pet hair.

To be completely honest with you we have never had that problem. My father was a loving man, but always believed a pets place is outside, not in the house. This approach erradicates the problem of pet hairs in the house, as well as defining boundaries. Pets are naturally used to the outdoors, and she was extremely well behaved and loving. I'm sure alot of readers will be appalled by this, as some would not even dream of this, but it had no ill-effects on our dog...

I only have to deal with cleaning up my dogs hair about twice a year. He only sheds that many times. I shampoo my carpet at least twice a year and get all of the remains that my vacuum cleaner didn't get. My dogs hair is like cotton and it rolls up into cotton balls.

Well, we have two pets in the house so it is a constant job here. The kitten that we got my daughter has longer hair than I thought it would so I have to clean it up daily. Luckily, our dog is a miniature dauschaund and so it doesn't shed much. I don't have to do much with it except I try to keep her cage cleaned daily just in case she is in it alot. She rarely does anything in it but I like to wash it daily so that it doesn't have a smell to it.

We have 2 large dogs here....a Newfoundland and a Husky. There's lots of fur, so definitely a daily job for vacuuming/sweeping and they are brushed every other day.
