Do you konw the novel Three Kingdoms of China? Have you ever read the original edition or any translation of it? It is a historical work about the ancient China. If you read it you will feel the unique culture of ancient China. I like to read the original edition and I like to enjoy the translation by Moss Roberts. He has translated the whole volume with sufficient notes for you to refer to. I can say it is an excellent translation and a efficient way to learn Chinese history at that time. He produced a clarity of language and enable us to enjoy the original wordplays. If you have not read it and know little about the history of that period of China, fetch one at once. I am sure you will be attracted by the fantastic story and ancient chinese culture.

I know of it, but I have never been able to read a translation of it. I think it would be a great thing to read some day, but right now I'm not sure if I have the time to read such a work. It sounds like it would be a fascinating read though, so I hope that I will be able to read it.
