definitly no, have a part-time fob is not a wasting of time. You can gain lots social experiences during your work. You have to learn how to communicate with people and how to do things well.If you say,it will waste a lot of time .That's not an excuse .I think people can handle well with his study and working ,if one squeeze the time and have good plans. So you can have a part-time job not only for money but something even better you can't learn from school.don't you think so?

I don't think it is a waste of time myself. I think it os a good thing to do. We can never have too much money and he is also helping the employer out by working. It would only be a waste of time if he took the job that someone else really needed.

I am also support the idea that a student should do his hole in his current stage. But I think if you take part in some other things and experience more,it will work well in your future. If you do something in you field, you can obtain much experience in your career. So I think it is not a bad thing to take some time to do the part-time job

Wasting time? I dont think so. He is just doing what he like to do. Doing something you like is always good thing and could bring good impact on your personality. He needs to be himself, and be an independent guy without deppended on parents. If I were his dad, I will feel proud because he tried to make himself matured........

Nope not if the person enjoys what they are doing. possible just like meeting people or dealing with people while getting extra.
it isn't affecting their school work then i dont see the problem.

If a student does not need money, I think it would be better to concentrate on studies first. The student maybe able to somewhat managed to balance the time, I still believe that you cannot serve two masters at once. Maybe the student should evaluate what does working does for him , because obviously it is not the money and also if working does give someone sense of fulfillment, that is fine as long as education is not being compromised.

As a student I can say that having a job and concentrating on your studies does not work out in the end. I have alot of firends that are working on the side and they hardly have time to spend ontheir studies. I know alot of them to be really smart and honestly not living up the their potential. On a day to day basis they complain about how they hate their job and they reconize that they arent making decent money. I honestly have no idea why they continue to work sacrificing their grades for a few extra bucks. my friends who dont work aswell as myself have alot more time for our studies and for the most part are content with our grades. Personally my reasons for not seeking employment lie mostly with my parents. Earlier on in highschool they told me that I had the rest of my life to work so I should really just focus on studying. After years of advocating this i finally gave in and accpeted that this was a time for study and the time of work would promtly arrive.

A student is supposed to do his role, and that is to study and be a good student. If he can accomplish both studies and working, then that is fine. If he works but the studies suffer, it's better for him to quit his job. Especially that you mentioned that he has no financial problems, he cannot justify his school rating because of his job. If he does well in school and his studies is not interrupted by the work, I would say it's not a waste of time but rather putting extra time to a more useful one.
