Welcome to mylot friend. I completely agree with you that IPL is not started to promote cricket or do good to the game. It was merely started to counter attack ICL. BCCI doesnot want to miss any opportunity of earning money. I think that IPL is just for money and I think people too will get bored with so much of T20. I wonder if people from delhi will cheer Ishant Sharma in a match between Kolkota and Delhi as he is from delhi and will be playing from kolkota.

yes,it is only to catch the glory and money in cricket world of India. In India every child knows the basics of game and people go crazy about it.BCCI just did the IPL thing to capture the money from market as their are a lot of wealthy investors to grab the opportunity. Its all about money and not to mention rival ICL!!!!

This is pure business. just look at money thrown to mediocre players. if we look at their money earning sources. no.1 is the brand visibilty 2)bcci wil share the money it got from tselling the televison rights in a phased manner The franchises will receive 80% of the television revenue over the first two years, 70% in the third and fourth years, 60% between years five and ten, and 50% from the 11th year onwards. In addition, they will also receive 60% of the sponsorship revenue during the first ten years, after which they will receive 50%.Of the total amount to be distributed, 20% will be divided based on the final league positions of the franchises while the other 80% will be shared squally. 3)Sponsorship for the team, kits, etc etc 4)stadium sponsorship 5)ticket sales 6)prize money 7)merchandise
