What is everyone reading right now. I just started reading this really good book called "Shoe Addicts Anonymous" by Beth Harbison. This is her first hardcover fiction book and so far I am really liking the book. What are you guys reading? Is it good?

I have just finished This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti. It is a Christian novel and focuses on the spiritual battle between angels and demons. It is a compelling story and makes you think about the actual battle that wages above us. I'm going to be starting the second novel This Peircing Darkness which includes the same angels and the same town.

I know it's funny because I started reading the second book mentioned first, but then I received "Sam's Letters to Jennifer" in the mail from Books-a-million and just got more interested in beginning to read my "new" book lol. It looks like I'll be finishing this one first:)

i think i saw that discussion of yours. i have never read that manga so i couldn't really comment on it. what's its story anyway?
what is agoraphobia? the book sounds really amusing and interesting. i didn't think there are people who can be so addicted with shoes! i might get a copy of that if i saw one in the bookstore. thank you very much for recommending. i love to read books once in a while, i just don't know what to buy.

That's really cool. I've read Vampire Lestat before but it was a long time ago. I'm going to hve to revisit those books and read all about them. I love reading mangas too. Have you by any chance read the manga Boys over Flowers? I started a discussion a while back about this manga and nobody responded. Shoe Addicts Anonymous is a hilarious book and everytime I turn the page I fall even more in love with this book. The book is about these four woman who are all addicted to shoes. One of the woman is in debt because of all the spending she does in shoes, another one suffers from agoraphobia, the third woman's husband canceled all her credit cards and another one is a nanny who just needs some time away from her work.
So these four woman meet up every tuesday so that they can trade shoes and just talk about stuff. And through all of this they help each other out with stuff. I really recommend this to anyone.

Yeah when I watched In Her Shoes, the movie wasn't as good as the book was, I was very disappointed.

Oh yeah I've read that all ready. I think her books are awesome and really funny. Can you believe that they are turning the books into a movie now? It's kind of exciting but kind of dumb because everytime one of my favorite books is turned into a movie I'm disappointed by the final project. Sophie Kinsella actually has a new book out called Do you remember me? You should check it out, I'm still waiting to receive it from the library.

In my opinion, yes. She does 'modern fairytales'. It keeps my attention. xD So, I'm happy about that.

I started reading a book I picked up through bookcrossing.com. It was a "wild release" at our local A&W. When I got notice of it I went and got it because I like the author (Andrew M. Greeley) and the series of stories he has written (Irish stories). He has written hundreds of books and I haven't read one that I haven't liked. He is a Catholic priest so a lot of his stories take place around the church. His detective in his mystery series is Bishop Blackie Ryan. The book I picked up was "Irish Lace". I read the first chapter so far.
But then I stopped in at the library and searched for a bunch of books I had written in my notepad. Only one was available. I started reading it last night and couldn't put it down. Also, being a library book I have to have it back in 4 weeks so there is a deadline involved, so the other book will have to wait. Anyway, I am now reading "No Time for Goodbye" by Linwood Barclay. It is a story of a teenage girl who wakes up in the morning and her whole family is gone.

Wow I actually do the same thing. I have like long list in my computer of books I want to read and I go to the library and get them. Right now I have like three other books in my house from the library that I have to read and I have the latest book from Janet Evanovich waiting for me at the library. Reading is such fun.

Right now I am reading "Mariah Mundi" by GP Taylor. It's really packed with action. I wish I could write like that. So needless to say, yes I really love this book. Actually, so far I've really enjoyed all the books Mr. Taylor has written. Also, I'm in the middle of CS Lewis' "That Hideous Strength." I must have something for British fantasy writers.

Right now I'm reading "Incubus Dreams" by Laurell K Hamilton. It's a book about murders being commited near vampire-owned strip clubs. I haven't gotten very far into it but so far it's good.

I've just started reading "Forever Lily" by Beth Nonte Russell. Its the story of her travel to China with a friend to pick up a baby that her friend had adopted. For some reason, her friend decides that she no longer wants to adopt the baby and the author realizes that she cannot leave China without the baby.
Its pretty good so far, and it is something that I'd recommend for those who like nonfiction.

I am surprised that the book you are reading hasn't jumped out at me in the bookstore lately. It is one I would definitely pick up to read the jacket cover. I am currently reading "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. It is a true story about a year in her life spent traveling and spiritually rediscovering herself. Sounds heavy, but she is a humorous writer and I am enjoying it quite a lot.
Elizabeth went to college in New York City in the early 1990’s, and spent the years after college traveling around the country and the world, working odd jobs, writing short stories and essentially creating what she has referred to as her own MFA program. From these experiences she wrote the story that was eventually made into the movie "Coyote Ugly".
