do you find it fun to go swimming with kids in a kiddie swimming pool?

zyron zac - xyron sliding down!

we went swimming yesterday in a public resort at another town. i went with my 3-year old nephew, xyron, my teenage niece, nika, and my teenage nephew from a cousin, stalin. together with us is a friend with her two children. i never thought i would have so much fun even though i was in a kiddie swimming pool! i only got to swim once in the adult swimming pool because i had to watch over my nephew who seemed so little among those energetic children playing in the slides in that small kiddie pool. at first he was so afraid on swimming and he couldn't let go of me and was content on splashing water to me and to other kids while clinging at me. my friend's children even tried to convince him but to no avail. but i made him play by himself and after a while he wasn't so scared anymore. but i didn't know if i should be sorry or happy for it because he couldn't stop playing in the slides! he went there i think at least 20 times! or even more than that. and i couldn't do anything but to watch over him in fear that he might slip or something. but nevertheless, i had fun because it was fun watching him having fun and all those kids who couldn't get enough of the slides and even the water which i bet was already dirty at that time. children indeed can be happy with simple things. so, have you ever gone swimming in a kiddie swimming pool with little children? did you find it fun? ^__^

Oh yes! I love those slides in the kiddie pool. Also I can't swim that is why I prefer to stay in the kiddie pool. I used to always bring my friend's son to the swimming pool and watch him play in the water. I wish I were a kid again and enjoy life like children do.

So if you were with your nephew you could have pretended you were playing with him while keeping an eye on him and go with him in the slide.

i could have done that, but i was really embarrassed. its obvious that my nephew is younger than me, he definitely looks like a teenager while me, i looked my age then. in my mid-twenties. ^__^;; i felt i was too old for the slide. ^.^;;

hi jemina! the slides really seem a lot of fun but i couldn't try it because i'm kinda embarrassed. there's a slide in the adult pool but i was really too embarrassed to try it. but if i was with a lot of friends, i would have tried it. i was only with my nephew then.

Yes, I have gone swimming with my nephews and niece to my local swimming pool. I really liked the water because it was warmer than the adult pool. Later the small pool was closed for swimming and so we went over to the adult pool. The shallow and deep ends of it were closed for swimming lessons. So I had to get into the middle part of the pool with my nephews and niece. My niece is tiny so I had to hold her hand. The water was too deep for her to stand up. My nephews are bigger so they were fine. Another day I took my toddler to a fun swimming pool. I loved being in the kiddies area with its fun environment with a fountain in the delightfully warm water.

Now that sounds like loads of fun!!! Hopefully we'll find time yet this summer to go to a water park. It is fun watching the little ones have a great time. I don't care to go to our swimming pool in town. There is a little slide in the 3 ft and a diving board in the deep. I go with my 3yr old to the kiddie pool with our toys and play. It's just not my think to do. But water parks are fun, much more things to do for little and older people. And everyone enjoys the lazy river. Thanks for bringing this up I'm going to put it on my list to do before school starts.

I do! The only problem is we have a really small kiddie pool in the nearest resort in our place so it gets dirty easily. I bought my child her own inflatable pool and we do enjoy swimming there. It's tidier that way and we are sure that no urine is in there LOL

we can be sure about that. i also wanted to buy an inflatable pool for my nephew and niece but its out of my budget. and actually, we already have a mini pool beside our pump, you know, the "poso". my mother had the pool constructed so that my other nieces and nephew wouldn't have to take a dip in the lake which my mother is always against of.

my 3-year old nephew can easily get sick too. that's why my mother also doesn't allow him to stay too long in the water. it was a good thing he didn't catch anything after our swimming.

Oh yes we have one at home but my lola doesn't want to have a pool beside it because my cousins would only be dipping there the whole day. Some of them catch colds easily that's why my grandmom wants to limit their exposure to water and open air. I had my eldest inflatable pool 5 years ago, it was on sale in SM Makati and I availed it for only 300 PHP.

I do love the kiddie pool!! Last summer was my daughter's first pool season! She was only 1 so she had to stay in the kiddie pool but she loved it and it was nice to see her having so much fun. I bought her a raft with a shade on it so she could come into the big pool with me. This summer I am going to take her to a different pool that has a better kiddie pool and a big slide. I think she can go down with me.

I always accompany my two children in the kiddie swimming pool whenever we go swimming. It is always nice to have special moments with your children particularly with this kind of activity. I will try to help them float and play around with their beach ball. Actually I really don't know how to swim, so being with them in the kiddie pool is one way to hide this. By the way it is also fun to mingle with other parents and guardians in the pool.

that's one great excuse to hide it. and a great excuse to learn how to swim together with the kids. ^__^;; hmmm.. sor me it would be fun to mingle with single guardians and not with parents. so i might find a responsible guy somewhere taking care of his nephews or nieces.

OF COURSE. i have a two year old son and since he was small we always go to resorts to swim. he loves the water he is not afraid. if only i can post an image with my response i will do it but i am not capable to do it now. i even bought him a small pool for he can swim or play with water here at our backyard. he is too little yet to try to handle himself at the slide but he is having fun looking at the people who are going down from there. he laughs out loud when the water spalshes when the person from the slide touches the water.

sounds like your son is a water-lover! i can imagine how he laughs when the water splashes. my little nephew is like that too. even her baby sister loves taking a bath and is always all smile while her mother bathes him.

mother's day - celebrating mother's day
i and my family went to the resort yesterday. I must say i really enjoy it with my daughter which is 1 year old and 10 months. As i saw her laughter, a cute smile and somehow shouting. It is my surprise to my mother as a mother's day celebration, and i was saying that, its kinf of my daughter celebration because she really had a fun. But as we all know that kids that age has to put limitation that can only swim for only limited minutes. i already change my clothes and taking care of my daughter while sleeping then my family is swimming. I just watch them and take a video. I have no regret because i saw my mom's happiness

Hi There. Yup, I love swimming with kids in a kiddie swimming pool. It is just fun especially when my younger sister will cling into me while laughing. I just love it when she is so happy!

children's laughters are really music to adults' ears right? my nephew clung to me at first when he was still afraid with the water. it was funny! he held me like he was a "tuko" (gecko).
26 May 08
honestly, i don't like swimming in a kiddie pool. i just have this impression that they "go" there a lot and it's a pool filled with urine =) but that's just probably my paranoia LOL

with kids swimming in it, that's not far from reality. but when you're already there and you find yourself enjoying, you'll eventually forget about it.

i never experienced swimming in an inflatable pool too. i think back then only the rich can afford it and middle class families down to the poor saw it as a very extravagant thing.

hi sue! i think it was a great exercise for my nephew too. but considering that he is such an active boy, what he did in the pool was just like an ordinary thing to him. but i also had to watch over him, not to protect the other kids but to protect him. he is so small compared to other kids there.

the kiddie pool is fun! my only reserve about the kiddie pool is a lot of those kids wear diapers or aren't potty trained, lol...that's what chlorine is for, right?? I think this summer we will get one of those little 6" deep pools and let the kids splash in it...we had a sprinkler and man they loved it! this is the first time i haven't had well water, so it's nice to be able to play with the water. you are so lucky to live somewhere you can go swimming in april! we'd freeze our butts off if we tried that here, lol :)
@secretbear (19448)
• Philippines
11 Apr 08
ew! we don't have that kind of problem with kiddie pools! children wearing diapers are not allowed! and small children that aren't potty-trained usually are accompanied by an adult or usually too small to go swimming. i guess summer here is earlier than yours. Summer here usually starts at March and ends in April. when summer is there in your place it would be a little rainy here. there would still be people swimming but the swimming craze would go down.

It is huge fun to go swimming with kids, I love it! When we go on holiday there is always an indoor pool at the place we stay and we always try to have a day of swimming. It is becoming more fun now as my kids are learning to swim with school and so are getting a lot more confident.
