So this may be dumb, but I bought us all some new toothbrushes yesterday. We've all been very sick, and I'm trying to clean and get rid of the germies! HAHA! So I go to brush my teeth this morning, and it was great using my new toothbrush! I don't buy real expensive ones or anything, but for me, anything new is great! No matter what it is! But I'm a pretty simple person, easy to please, laid back! SO it doesn't take much to make me smile, or giggle. I enjoy the simple pleasures in life, and for me this morning, it was my new toothbrush!! LOL! Do you have small things like this that make you smile sometimes? That make you think, AH the simplest things are so ordinary maybe, but so necessary? I truly believe that it's the small things in life that mean the most, that may get taken advantage of or misplaced, or thrown aside to some, but to others may mean the world. Simple tasks, simple gestures, the simple small tokens to cherish. I'm not saying i CHERISH my toothbrush, lol, but it was a small happening today that caused a happy reaction! AH clean teeth, no more germies from us being sick, AND something so simple!

I am that way about all new hygiene products. I can't wait to use a new shower gel, or a new hairspray, a new foundation or a new lip gloss or lip stick. And, underwear! Sheesh! I get all excited about wearing new panties! LOL! Anyway, I know where you are coming from! I am like that too. I even got excited today because it was Friday and I look forward to the simple pleasure of coffee in the am on Saturdays and Sundays with the hubby.

My pleasure! I enjoyed sharing it! And, I am glad to know that I am not the only person who gets happy about new products! Not big tech things. Just new hair, makeup...you basic beauty products! Oh, and I forgot that I have to try my new lipstick before I even pull out of the parking lot after I buy it! LOL! I don't spend too much time in the parking lot so as not to tick anyone off who might be waiting for my space but, I do have to try it on because...I just can't wait! LOL!

I enjoy sunrises and sunsets, snow on the tree branches, or even the sparkling ice hanging from them. I enjoy the start of spring and the first flowers of the season. I enjoy the birds singing on a summer morning to wake me up with sunshine shining on my face in the morning. I enjoy hugs from my boys and also the little I love you's from them. But, I can see that a new tooth brush is a pleasure also because I often wonder if my boys can't find thier's and are using mine. :.) So now I also bought a new one and enjoy it and also hide it so they can't find it.

LOL! you're silly! thank you for responding!! i love all that you say you enjoy in life though. at least you stop and look around you. so many people just let the world pass them by, the sunrises and sunsets, and it's such a small, FREE pleasure to be able to witness such beauty! and snow, snow is so beautiful yet everyone just complains about how cold it is. well i do too!! LOL, however, i LOVE snow, love how fresh it is, how white and clean it looks when it first falls, how the snowflakes are so dainty! it's so easy to take for granted, everything is! (hope you're toothbrush provides much happiness until it's time for a new one again!!)

Yes,I do enjoy the simple pleasures. I am not a materialistic person; happiness doesn't come from what we have but from the relationships we have with people around us. Right now I am looking forward to the day when my crocus begin to bloom! Should be any day now, and I'll know spring is on its way! New toothbrushes are great, too.

i think you're supposed to nick you're right. i was only going on maybe a month and a half on this one however, but when we're sick, i replace all of ours, even if i had bought them the week before. too many germs.

I have to admit that I take the simple things in life for granted. Such as new toothbrushes :-) I'm the kind of person that doesn't realize how great the simple things in life are until I don't have them. It's like the plants in our home. My husband takes care of them. I don't pay them any attention, until he takes them outside during the warmer months. Then I notice they are gone. I agree that the simple things in life are important. I'm just not the type of person to pay much attention to them or to do them. So, I leave that stuff up to the people that are good at them.

that's true though, sometimes we don't see things until they're gone. i mean i couldn't live without my computer, but computer haven't been around ALL that long ya know? if you have plenty of something it's easy to take for granted. doesn't mean you don't appreciate something, it's just always on hand, and you don't think about it! thank you for responding! liked your point of view!

To be honest, i enjoy simple things. And it is simple things that make me laugh, most of the time. When i laugh, the others just do not know why i am so happy. Besides, i am easy to get exciting and sad, mostly for slight feelings and little behaviour. Oh, strang girl~~ i know. However, i really know simple things in one's life may be important. What you enjoy now maybe disappear if you do not cherish it. So, i will tell myself enjoy them, take care of them. Also, just more focus on the things that make you happy and relaxed. O, wonderful life, wonderful time and wonderful people.

i am quite a giggler as well. i giggle at EVERYTHING it seems. very simple statements made, or something my hubby will say, cuz it's just cute, and i just giggle, and it may be something that's NOT funny with his words, but it's his face, or how he says it, that makes me laugh. you are NOT strange, i totally understand what you're saying!! you are great! thanks for responding!!

My dog had surgery - This is Penny, an 11 year old Lhasa Apso. She had to have surgery a few days ago and has been very lethargic since then. She is now her usual bouncy, happy self again!
No, it's not dumb frecklelip and I know exactly how you feel, because I agree - the simeple things in life can make us very happy - for you it was your new toothbrush! I felt like that today when I saw the sun shining, because we have been having dull, rainy days lately, and seeing the sun put a smile on my face! I also had a smile on my face yesterday when I saw my dog was running around, full of the joys of spring - she had an operation a few days ago and has been lethargic ever since, and I was worried about her. We take a lot of things for granted until they are taken away from us, and then we realize just how precious they are. Enjoy your new, sterile toothbrush and may you never get sick again!

hi there abbey!!! TRUE when it's so dreary and all these winter months, seeing and FEELING that warm sun is SO great! i can't wait to get out to walk in the sun again! i HATE summer, but the springs and falls i adore, all the colors and feels!! and AH about your dog!! that is SO wonderful, that she's feeling better! it's so nice since they cannot 'tell' us how they're feeling, to see the spring back in her step....something to really look at and be thankful for. good you noticed and smiled at this! you are SO right in "we take a lot of things for granted until they are taken away from us, and then we realize just how precious they are"...EXACTLY. thank you!!!!
