Wow, am I just stupid, or am I the only one that notices the "april 1st" part of it. APRIL FOOLS everyone.

I did not know that. I think it is awful! every time the minimum wage goes up (and such a drastic rise) everything else goes up to compensate - and it all goes up higher in comparison than the wages... It is just chasing and does not help the economy. I dread this. And those who work for more than minimum wage will not likely have their wages increased by the same percentage - so the new hires will be making practically the same as they who have been with the company for a substantial time. I do not see how this solves anything, but creates new woes.

Increase in minimum wage sounds great, but all it effectively does is cut everyone elses pay. If minimum wage doubles the price of milk and eggs will double too. It will be a good couple months until the market catches up with the increase in costs though.
