Why do people shout ?

Today I am sitting here doing mylot, I am just annoyed to the people around me shouting. I mean they can just talk without shouting and it is so early in the morning . I am just so frustrated and irritated, that is why I post this. Do you get annoyed as well ?

why do people shout? EGO, nothing more. They know they are on weak ground regarding arguments so they shout to try and make you think they have confidence in what they are saying. I guess the old addage remains true, it is better for people to think you a fool than to open your mouth and remove any doubt

I agree, those who don't know what to say tends to shout. They think that by shouting, it will mean they are making sense. Yes, you are correct if you have nothing good to say just better shut up. Thanks for the reply :)

yes, exactly. I get very annoyed and irritated when someone shouts around me. Unfortunately, my father does that all the time and he says he doesn't hear well, and that's the reason for it. But it still annoys me really, when someone around me shouts I feel stressed and looking for a way to defend myself. I sometimes shoutback more loudly and it wouldn't be very peaceful as you already know.
Maybe there is something wrong with me but I want a more peaceful place where noone is shouting each other :) Even if they don't hear! hehhe. And when people get drunk they shout more,and they simply talk very silly. I hate drinking after all,and talking to drunk people.

I also want a peaceful environment especially if I am tired and stressed out. I just that people around me would cooperate and give me the space that I need. Thanks for the post :)

Some people like the sound of their own voice too much and like to shout because it makes them look aggressive and tough and it makes people look at them and they get satisfaction from it. There is no need to shout and yes it annoys me, because there is no reason for them to do it, it's actually antisocial and it is not acceptable or wanted. You can communicate just as well without resorting to shouting.

Yes I do get annoyed when people shout! I detest it. I hear fine so there is no need to shout to me. People shout everywhere. At the tube, in the store at cafes, on the phone. Whats wrong? There are hearing aids to be had. No need for all this shouting and yelling really.

you are right, especially if the person talking is just close with each other. I don't understand the need to shout. It just get to my nerves...

Hello dear bluecrystal. Yeah, I also hate people shout next to me, especially when I am doing something that needs my concentration. It is very annoying to hear this shout. I wonder why they behave like this and could not keep their voice lower like the normal we talk to each other.

I have this problem with my children at the minute, they always seem to be shouting and screaming at each other at the minute, and they try to drag me in on it when all I want them to do is be quiet and just get on!! Yes I get very annoyed.
