The playstation 2 portable/ small console?

Alright, I've been wanting to know this for some time. I know you can play old playstation games on the playstation 2 but only when you have an old memory card. Now before I go out and buy one I just want to know if the smaller version of playstation2 or the portable one has a slot to put an old memory card in?

Based what you have said. It works when using the old mem.card then why not give it a try? or ask the store where you will buy the old mem.card about the compatibility.
I'm not sure about my answer but i think it's because of the cards size and formats. remember the ps1 has 15 blocks space? its size is about 128kb and the ps2 has a size of 8mb.
I did't try putting the old memory cards, but i have tried putting the old ps1 controller to the ps2 and it works.
