For me, I would say the Igorots are the people alive with the most intriguing culture. While many cultures have lost their customs and traditions, the Igorots still have theirs intact in spite of many foreign influences who tried to pacify their so called savage cultures. For more than three hundred years, they have fought the Spaniards who wanted nothing from them but their golds. The Americans came later but still their cultures remained. They may have adopted western clothings and beliefs but their deeply rooted traditions are still practiced down to this day.

I have been to Kenya and met the Masai Mara tribe. They were red robes and have much jewelry on. They do some fascinating dancing displays. They keep their traditions and money that travelers spend helps their community. I have been to Belize and I have been to see the Mayan ruins. It was so fascinating to find out about the Mayan people. Around one area I met a few Mennonites and found their story of how they came to live there fascinating. I have been to Israel and seen three religions living so close to each other. I went to Samoa and met the local people and found their tradition interesting. I have been to Australia and met Aboriginal people and have been to New Zealand and met Maori people. The history of these countries is interesting. So the most interesting culture I have ever met most be the Masai Mara tribe in Kenya.

Yes thats true.. I am an IGOROT and I am proud of it.. Yes you are true in saying that the Igorots have their values or culture intact., If you go to the provinces, you can see the different cultures that the Igorots have.. Maybe you haven't even tried to defecate in an open pit with an oinking pig below! I for one, though I am an Igorot is still cultured-shock with the different traditions that each Igorot tribe possess..

I also believe so, it's something that I am proud of. We have a different way of preserving our unique rich culture and the local government has measures to make the practices going and active.
I just hope that the next generation will also treasure what our forefathers have lived for in the past!
